Night Shift
daylight intrudes upon her darkless night,
she hopes to snatch from daylight,
some few hours rest.
before she wakes to walk again,
where floor lights tell the feet where next to thread,
amid the lame the weak the sick,
who long for dull dark night,
to yield to day.

I know why the caged bird sings.
Some where deep down in a hollow space safe in the depts far away from pain,
In a special place time cant erase, where dreams lived and hope escaped the hoplessness of state and place, a happy thought like a little flame lies in wait for the darkest days
Yeah I know why the caged bird sings to remind himself of what lay within before you came to crush his dreams before you words built bars of steal that tried to forever clip his wings
yeah I know why the caged bird sings, and sings so sweet behind bars of steal it is to say with bravery. I am here ,I am me though behind your bars forever free.
