Chris "Broadway" Romero has not received any gifts yet
Tony Yayo drops a one verse gem and a very special guest makes a cameo. From Tony Yayo's "BLACK FRIDAY" Mixtape, released on www.thisis50.com
By Chris "Broadway" Romero
Prodigy's dark tale of isolation and war against an increasingly globalized and media controlled world is brought to life via 3d animation by director / web 2.0 mastermind Chris "Broadway" Romero.
This futuristic, paranoid piece foretells of a future united world government called PANGEA, patrolled armored police, swarms of camera robots and insect sized drones; a world where everyone's whereabouts are tracked at all times, and no one can move around without being observed. It also foretells the existence of a united armed underground movement that Prodigy is a part of called UARU, and Infamous / Mobb Deep familia like Havoc, Alchemist, Big Twinz, Nyce, and others make cameo appearances.
Alchemist's haunting production and banging drums provide the soundscape for the anime-inspired piece, while Prodigy's gritty baritone bring out his jazz roots as he subtly shifts his tones to match Alchemiests changes; not enough rappers have a mastery of this, if any at all. The clip also calls you to join P's social network and write letters to the incarcerated scarface via his website at www.hnic2.com
A refreshingly different look at a hip hop visual in a world clouded by camera phone and handy cam gangsters, its great to see an animated video that doesnt pander to cartoony, trendy, $250 t shirt visual styles but instead takes the gritty feel of subway graffiti and all at once visually brings it to the future. One of the most underrated albums of the year, the illfather recommends copping immediately.
