I also think you would like Amsterdam, cause most tourists do, especially the centre, the old city which is built on water and can be compared to Venice.
I live like in the sub-urbs of Amsterdam, also nice but different, more quiet, new.
Oh, and if you ever plan a visit to Europe dont forget the country's here are very close to each other, you can travel easy from one country to another, so if you want to see many different cultures fast a fast trip through Europe could be an option.
