My Poems
Its Pain
Its wretched pain,
I've become a pawn.
One of many in this heartaching game.
It shows me no such mercy;
I dream, it's always on my brain.
It hurts for a purpose I long for.
Just like the devil;
It's focused.
It has no weakness,
No fears, just possibly a few crying tears.
That surely is my love...
But what about his?
How cold.
Trust
You think you know a person you trust,
until there promises have flown like birds in the fog-like dust.
An additional form of deception is what you're hanging on to,
not understanding your consequences and hurt you'll eventually go through.
Put too much of your heart into one person,
it'll blind you in the eyes, have you so head over that you don't want to see what's right in your face
not scattered from your view and eyes that trace.
You'll be left alone to handle the pain that will make you cry,
after you've put so much trust in that person you'll want to die.
Then you might as well realize that the time has come for you to stop and think....
Whose standing by your side?
Dont worry about the rest, just think of yourself.
Never let others decieve you, that's you job, and the only one left.
Others don't See
Hey Friend,I hope you alright, you know with life.
The life where you met me and the one others dont see.
I been feelin ya stress all the time,
I've had you locked in some corner of my mind.
You cause me to ask myself a question, "Is her pain worse than mine?"
I find my answer, and our problems are one of a kind.
Since we are so unique and others dont see,
they judge us and wont let us be.
Im a friend to you and you're one to me,
we've been through much others dont see.
But like friends im always here for you and you there for me,
just lean on my shoulder you'll see,
the love and hardcore friendship others dont see.
Together
Me and you will be together for now,
No one said forever just this second no doubt,
Tender touches, kisses and hugs,
well let it be known that were in love.
When were together you tell me sweet things,
that when we show our love, those words are to blame.
But our togetherness will cease,
like others weve seen.
If you love me and I love you, nothings lost all is clean,
true love never ends is what I mean.
But until then youre mine and Im yours til the end of course.
Me and you will be together for now,
no one said forever, just this second, but our love never ends no doubt.
So together true love forever well try,
To take the route that got us this far.
Black is Beautiful
Once we were free, free to roam our own land,
Where Black is as Beautiful as the dark Sahara sand.
Captured, and sold beaten and searching for a goal,
We lasted to find out Black is Beautiful
we know that we’ve all past it not long ago.
Given a bit of freedom back in our lives, to vote, to drive.
Now we understand we’ve been given a right.
Black is Beautiful, some gave us a chance,
To build, to entertain, to help the MAN.
We show there’s more to us then the color of our skin,
bold and black more then a cover, it protects our heart within.
The outer layer that covers your soul treasure it,
And spirit you hold.
The tone and gorgeousness others lack,
Black is Beautiful that’s all we needed to understand.
The meaning of our beauty we must take back.
Discrimination, prejudices and pain,
Death, hurt and harm there’s no one to blame.
Now years have passed and all has changed,
Remember the forgotten, so the present doesn’t end the same.
Black is Beautiful, as we know dreams are real,
Now look back in our past and acknowledge all whose blood was spilled,
For us to be equal, as God intended for us to be.
And always, no matter what we go through,
The path has been set just for me and you.
Like in the beginning , like the Sahara dark sand,
Black is now free to roam our beautiful land.
Black is me and you, black can stand,
Black is Beautiful and in Gods hand.
Mistakes
"Sometimes you regret the things you do"
Yeah, that's what some girls say, they tell me,
"that's what happens when you make that one dreadful mistake,
you want to turn back but it's way too late."
They say it could happen to anyone, "Oh no not me"
But it did, that's why she's got to make a choice,
to keep or get rid.
She can choose, maybe door one or door two,
let die or let live, but either way she has to get through,
something's got to give.
A choice she'll make looking down memory lane,
taking a look back through the hour glass at her past,
and what caused this mistake.
She said "I loved him, he said he loved me too."
But I know that's what they say to get in your head.
"He asked me how much? So I showed him my bed."
So that's why a crib's in the corner of the room.
I asked her "How old were you?"
She explained "I'm 16 now, that was nine months ago."
Cradling an infant in her arms
she looked nothing more than 12 years old.
The mistake she'd made could not account for all the pain she felt
before and after her babies long awaited birth.
"I love this child and always will,
even though his father doesn't love me still.
I made the mistake when I laid with him."
One final question I had to cut loose
"Is that a mistake, that there in your arms?"
She said "No, God put him here to keep me warm,
he's a part of me and helps me to go on.
He's no mistake this child of mine,
his birth a memory I'll keep in mind.
No, not a mistake, after nine months I carried him,
I couldn't let him go, couldn't give him away.
He'll always be, in my heart he'll stay."
Cradling an infant in her arms, she looked now no more then 12 years old, nine months was long hard labor, she had suffered true.
A child at 16 a mistake I never knew,
but she'll make other mistakes and
this one she must get through.
"His father Yes, but him No way,
I've made bigger mistakes and this one worth it,
no delay."
I'm Calling You
Come find me, Ive leaven a trail of roses from my heart to yours its open.
Come find me, dont let my beauty be erased with tears, dont show all of my fears.
Come find me, you can love me when you want.
Im lost and found to keep, dont worry its not a dream.
Come find me, Im calling you, come be my Hero, come save my heart from shatters my heartache matters.
Be my Superman, rescue me form burning desire with kryptonite have me flying higher.
You can find me, oh surely you will find me staring you in the face,
But Ill leave a trail of rose petals to trace.
I know youll follow and find the place.

The challenge youll take,
Im calling you for destiny, for fate.
My Black Man
The ripples on the chest
Of my black man are the best.
And so are his eyes, hands, nose and mouth
His cockiness I could surely do without.
In the mind of my black man,
You might think he’s making his bed to jail,
Or preparing his body for a trip to hell.
But listen a little closer and I’ll tell you a tale
My black man wont be‘livin in no cell
I’ll never have to drag my purse down to the courthouse and bail.
He’s too cocky that black man of mine
He’ll talk his way out even if he did commit the crime.
He’s surly not humble I tell you he’s not,
He thinks he’s the best.
He’ll need help on his quest
And wont want to rest.
He wants to learn I know he does
But its hard to convince the world he’s not growing young.
I never know what’s really going through his head
That black man says “I’m gonna live my life until I‘m dead.”
In the heart of my black man
Pride takes it’s stand
My man wont need a helping hand, he says
“I got two, what will another one do?”
That black man indeed
Has a mind of his own as you see
He’ll understand one day
That he wont live on this earth for long, wont stay.
He’ll do without his cockiness
He’ll become humble and pride less.
He’ll even begin to ask for help on his quest.
The chatter will be torn ’til silence subsides
And he’ll also remain that black man of mine.
The rules of the land he’ll have to abide.
