When you go out to eat, the server is the person who takes your order. It seems that a majority of people who like to dine out don't top very well. An average tip is 20% of the total of the bill. If the service is great, give a little more to show your appreciation. If the service is not so good, then feel free to leave a little less. It is very bad to go to a dine-in restaurant and not tip at all.
