SKEET BEATS debut album by SkeetSkurt

By  |

SkeetSkurt, Darien Woods, was born and raised in the Midwest, specifically Kansas City. Predominantly introverted and very creative, he has always had a love and passion for music. He is an independent artist who makes his own beats, produces, writes songs, and steers clear of autotune. SkeetSkurt uses the creation of music as therapy and an outlet to build residual income after surviving the streets and everything that came with them.

He started out freestyling and knew he wanted to learn how to make his own music. After being on felony probation for years, he decided to utilize this time by learning the ins and outs of beatmaking, songwriting, and production of music. When we asked him what his hardest obstacle to overcome was, he said, “being confined to one state for several years trying to find a way other than the streets while on probation, It’s hard to walk the line when everything you do is a crime. Especially in the same area you got yourself in trouble in.”

SkeetSkurt’s goals within the music industry are to create timeless projects and to have complete creative control over all of his music. He would like to collaborate with Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Tech N9ne, Drake, and Lil Wayne. He built his own studio at home before he even knew how to use it. He started from scratch so that he can create his own formula. His debut album “Skeet Beats” is expected to release July 19th, 2022, which also happens to be his birthday. He did everything himself, from the cover art, to the producing, mixing and mastering of this project. When we asked what he wants his followers to take away from his music, he said, “there’s gems being dropped all throughout my catalog. In a way, I feel like people can listen to my music and feel the energy from the song. This is also why I use raw vocals, so you can feel every breath, tone, and pitch depth.”
