Shyst The Animal,born Jamell Rodriguez. First entered this world on June 3rd 1981...Born and raised in the South Bronx. On the corners of Ward and Watson to be exact. Surrounded by drugs and violence,It's there where he learned his craft and passion for music.By listening to the older folks who played live Sala music in front of the building. Amazed by the crowds that formed together,It is then,when he knew what he wanted to be in life. He could of easily fallen to the negative situations around the neighborhood,but decided to stay head strong and focus on music...Influenced by the 90's era of Hip-Hop when everyone had to be nice, is what definitely made him write harder and with more meaning. He and His long time friend Sideofdacliff use to travel to all parts of neighborhoods in The Bronx battling anyone they came in contact with...Fast forward a few years later, when he meet Brick City native, Guinness Stout at a party. Together Shyst and Stout formed a crowd of their own,when both had a cipher that lasted about an hour long. From there Stout took Shyst to New Jersey to meet the rest of his crew called the Forbidden Chapters. An amazing amount of talented members which consists of emcees,beat makers and Matty V the manager. Shyst then joined the Chapters and appeared on the Forbidden Chapters fist album entitled Lay Down N Die Records presents the Forbidden Chapters. Shyst then linked up with Sideofdacliff and Stratagee and formed Ricanstruction. Shyst joined the chapters in performances at Setan Hall college, The Legendary Sound Lab, and even opening up for The Wu-Tang Clan at the Chesame theatre in Broadway. They also were regulars at Wsou Setan Hall radio...Shyst then took a hiatus after having a baby boy in AUG. of 2004. Music took a back seat as he had to provide and make a living for his family....Now at present time the hunger and passion has resurfaced with the countless dissapointment of Hip-Hop and where it's headed...With the most respect to those that are keeping it true to the essence and artform, Shyst The Animal Has something to prove and to offer Hip-Hop music...
