Consistent, Captivating, Collective, Charismatic, Singer/Songwriter/Producer is just a few words to describe the multi-talented Ricco Robinson. Even at an early age Ricco Robinson was captivated by “The spirit of music”. Being that Ricco was the son of a minister, his early musical influence came from the sound of gospel music. “I loved the way the choir sang; the sound of the music was hypnotizing!!” It seemed Ricco was destined to be Kirk Franklin; however one man would change the direction of Ricco’s musical preference forever. His name was Michael Jackson. At age nine Ricco began writing songs. His passion for songwriting landed him a spot in a local studio. But due to family transition, Ricco moved away from what he thought was a promising future in music. Later he would learn that this change would not effect his direction nor his destiny. Jewel Jenkins, choir director from Hart Jr. High School would ultimately be a bridge in his continuation with music. “She obviously saw something in me that I didn’t know existed.” Mrs. Jenkins tactfully persuaded Ricco’s father to allow him to attend “The Duke Ellington School of The Arts.” Through this experience he gained priceless vocal training and direction. It was this that solidified his never ending drive to become the artist that he is today. Presently Ricco Robinson’s Debut album entitled “Pieces” has been conceived. Without a doubt this album is truly an honest, artistic yet commercial piece of work. Throughout "Pieces," Ricco talks about infidelity, love at first sight, sensuality and even marriage. “I don’t really consider myself a songwriter as much as I consider myself an artist. When I recorded this album every song was a personal experience. The songs were written before I touched the pen.” With Ricco's new album "Pieces," he is ready to take the world by storm. Just as the title of number 7 on his album it has definitely “Been 2 Long!!!”
