- RedJak, born Corey Bell was raised on the Westside of Chicago, IL in the 1980s. He was born the youngest of three sons to a hard-working, single mother who was determined to provide the best for her children. He began to take an interest in music at a very young age. He began playing the woodwind instrument Oboe in his middle school band in 6th grade. He continued to play the Oboe throughout his entire middle school career and it was in 8th grade when he began to write music. He and a close friend of his formed a R&B/Rap duo called "Two Koul". The group was just experimenting with music writing and performing for their classmates and it wasn't until RedJak's sophmore year in high school that he began taking music seriouly. He joined a local Chicago rap group called "Trill Ones" and they recorded numerous studio albums and performed locally throughout the city of Chicago. RedJak took a break from music in attempt to fulfill other voids in his life and he married in 2008, moved to Madison, Wi and had his frist chil in 2009. It wasn't until the fall of 2010 that RedJak decided to seriously pursue music and put 100% effort into his music career. He filmed two videos in October 2010, one was for his first major single titled "Like Its '99" which was released to iTunes in January of 2011. He then teamed with producer and friend DJ Diamond for his second iTunes single "IcyHot" which was released in February of 2011. He then teamed with producer HimOverThere to launched his website www.officialredjak.com in the Spring and completed his first mixtape titled "S.S.D.H." (Same Struggle Different Hustle) hosted by DJ Prestige which is set for an early summer release. He is currently working on two other mixtapes with DJ Double XX and DJ Pain1 set to also release in the summer of 2011 and also planning a five-city Midwest tour for the end of the summer. RedJak has been influenced by artists such as Nas, Jay-Z, Big Sean, 2Pac and 50 Cent. Follow RedJak on twitter @officialredjak.
