Gary Coleman is an emerging Christian artist from Southeastern Louisiana. Raised in the church, Gary heard the word and accepted into his life. His journey brought him from a life determined for failure. Many events occured that lead to confusion, depression, and rebellion. However, music was prominent in his upbringing; early hip-hop, New Orleans Bounce, Gospel, and R&B was fluently heard during his adolescence. His developing passion for music steered him in the direction to become a rapper. Working with several groups and several recordings later, Gary could no longer ignore his true calling from the Lord. Gary made to make many changes in his life if he was going to effectively deliver the gospel to the Lord's people. Deciding to attack the urban gospel music scene with the plan of bringing "Good Christian music" to the world in hopes of changing lives and winning souls for Christ Jesus. Gary hopes to bring the teenage and elder Christian community together after seeing such a generational gap within the church. His debut solo album titled "The Discovery of Life" will be released in the summer of 2012. THE ALBUM WILL CENTER AROUND THE DECISIONS WE ARE FACED WITH IN OUR TEENAGE AND YOUNG ADULTHOOD LIVES THAT ULTIMATELY HELP SHAPE US IN THE FUTURE ONCE WE REALIZE THAT GOD WAS THERE ALL ALONG. TOUCHING ON ISSUES SUCH AS ABORTION, SOCIAL ISSUES, AND EVERYDAY HARDSHIPS WE TRIED TO BRING A UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS TO THE MUSIC. However, during the recording of the album, Gary was diagnosed with the disease Bell's Palsy making recording very difficult. Bell's Palsy is a disease in which one side of the face can become completely paralyzed. Focusing on completing the task God placed in front of him, Gary persevered. Supported by his beautiful wife, Dionne, and there two sons, Naseem and Raheem, Gary has waited a long time to spread the Good News. Gary enjoys performing for God's people and strives to build the Kingdom of God through his gift. Currently, the first single from the album is called #I'mNotARapper(#NoWorries) featuring Tyrae and follow up single #SoBlessed are available for download. The album is Executive Produced by Gary himself and his long time producer and business partner Dashawn Hayes aka Mr. Hayes.
