OAKLAND, Calif. — A four-month undercover operation in Oakland that resulted in 90 arrests and the seizure of 92 guns and a large quantity of illegal drugs was so successful that it will continue indefinitely, Police Chief Howard Jordan said Tuesday.

VALLEJO, Calif. — A spate of gunfire has claimed two lives in Vallejo in less than 24 hours.

Authorities identified the second victim on Wednesday as 19-year-old Darjhan Darinell Lewis of Vallejo. Lewis was found dead in the driveway of a home around 9 p.m. a day earlier. Police say he had two gunshot wounds. An assault rifle was found nearby.
