CLAYTON, Calif. — A Clayton middle school teacher accused of unlawful sexual conduct with a former female student from February 2010 through last summer was arraigned in Martinez Tuesday on 20 sex crime charges.

HAYWARD, Calif. — Two suspects who were arrested last week in connection with a shooting outside a Walmart store in San Leandro on Black Friday were arraigned Tuesday on charges of attempted murder, robbery and attempted robbery.

VALLEJO, Calif. — A spate of gunfire has claimed two lives in Vallejo in less than 24 hours.
Authorities identified the second victim on Wednesday as 19-year-old Darjhan Darinell Lewis of Vallejo. Lewis was found dead in the driveway of a home around 9 p.m. a day earlier. Police say he had two gunshot wounds. An assault rifle was found nearby.

SAN FRANCISCO — A driver who fled from police during a traffic stop in San Francisco Wednesday afternoon was shot and seriously injured while exchanging gunfire with police, police Chief Greg Suhr said.
Officers pulled over the suspect's car on Bush Street, about half a block west of Larkin Street, at 1:25 p.m., Suhr told reporters at the scene.
