I NEED A NEW CHALLENGE !
Because quite frankly flowing on the mic is getting kinda boring to me. I've been doing that for over 20 years and although I still like it, I'm not super crazy about it like I use to be.. I kinda feel the same way about making beats, I've been doing that for over 10 years, and I'm not that excited about that anymore either.
So I need a new challenge, and I think the best one for me would be to work for a record label in the A&R department, where I can find some new talent that can bring back the excitement of the music that I love.
I would love to be the head of the hip hop division on a record label that will allow me to sign commercial artist as well as non-commercial artist, because I like street music just as much as radio music, and probably even more so, to be quite honest about it.
So until I get back on the mic, keep vibin with yo boy OG Geno, cause it ain't over for me,, I'm just getting warmed up...

Am I A Little Rough Around The Edges?
You bet your two butt cheeks I am, but at the same time, I'm one of the most honest, dependable, friendly, open minded & non-selfish humans you'll ever come across in your life.
In the words of Eric B. & Rakim, "I Ain't No Joke".
I find my characteristics to be extremly useful in today's world. I'm sure some people will hear my music & "ASSUME" that I'm a negative person, But if those same people would spend some time talking with me, I'm sure they'll see that their "ASSUMPTIONS" of me are all wrong.
Do I get a kick out of proving people wrong?
You bet your two butt cheeks I do.
I know I use a lot of strong language in some of my songs, But as a songwriter I feel it helps add to the authenticity & integrity of the song.
Do you think the characters in movies like Scarface & Hustle & Flow would have had the same powerful impact on screen if they all talked like Ernie & Burt from Sesame Street?
Of course not. So when you hear me using strong lanugage in a song, it's not for shock value, it's for pure, true expression of the statement I'm trying to make.
I accept the fact that some record labels may be turned off by my lyrical content, and I'm cool with that, Because I understand it completly, & I guess that's one of the reasons that I'm doing things on my own, Because I know it's just a song of expression & that a lot of people will like it & accept it for what it is. "A SONG".
I feel that a label & an artist have to match each other 100%, & if the match is not there, then the two should never become one. I really don't make beats and songs for the money anyway.
I do it solely for the love of the music, & I'll do it for free, Like I've been doing for over 20 years.. But that don't mean that I'll give it away for free... LOL

Irving "OG Geno" Jones, was born the youngest of 6 children on 6/15/1969 in the city of Chicago to Ruby & Creadel "Red" Jones, the original bass singer of the Chi-Lites, (born 9/26/1940- died 8/25/1994- R.I.P.
