Brooklyn. When it comes to hip hop, the name is synonomous with greatness. It seems that every so often, a Brooklyn product enters the game and proceeds to take it over. Kane, Big and Jay have all made this fact abundantly clear. And so it seems that another every so often has arrived...and with it, a new artist with intentions of staing his own claim to Hip Hop's elite. His name is Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire and let this serve as your introduction.
Being born in Brooklyn and raised in the Projects, opportunities are few and positive outlets for youth are even more scarce . It's easy for one to fall into the wrong crowd or develop "bad habits". Growing up, eX did both, but while doing so, he developed an uncanny ability of putting words together. He honed that would eventually make his name ring bells. First, from hallway to hallway, then building to building and finally from hood to hood. His records got him the coveted major label meeting. However, the encounter bore no fruit. With a rock n roll personality and a G Mentality, record execs weren't sure if they could market him. Their lack of vision could have discouraged the average artist, but on the contrary, it only made him work harder, his songs stronger and his delivery more intense. He would make music HIS way now. This fact wasn't more evident then with the releases of The Big Fat Kill and his latest disc, The Cheap Thrills EP. Both served as scathing odes to creative freedom, nasty breakups and drunkedness. With shows all over the tri-state area, eXquire's fanbase continues to grow. His music, one part complex rhymes, one part cuss words and two parts drunken nights, it's difficult to put Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire in a box. But, to paraphrase one of his live show chants, he can just rap really
good.
