Stephen Rodrigues Da Costa, a/k/a Killa Cross, is a young talented producer born April 18 in Belgium. Stephen was the child of Congo-Portuguese parents, and during his childhood, he developed a natural feel for rhythm and sound. He quickly realized that his fate would not be the most common endeavor. Born into a poor family, this young artist grew over time by focusing his talents and intellect in the hip hop and rap industry. Several members of his family influenced his talents for production—his brother Akro, former member of Belgium rap group Satrflam, and his Grandfather, who was also a music producer.
Killa Cross never had specific training in the world of music as a youngster. Killa’s first love was basketball. He had a promising future in basketball but decided to take a different route.
Killa Cross was a member of a hip hop group known as the Golden Boyz. During his tenure with the Golden Boyz, he acquired a taste for rapping in English, French and Spanish. At the age of 17, Killa made his first step toward producing beats.
Killa Cross taught himself through music production software like Reason, Fruity Loops, Cubase, and Logic and currently uses Protools. He now works day and night to obtain that perfect harmonious sound that grabs the emotions of his fans. Killa is very focused on his work and is able to remove any distractions during his sessions to get the desired result musically. Killa’s main focus is to get the first placement in the world of hip-hop global production internationally by way of Belgium.
Killa Cross has many plans for the future and is aware of the talented group of super producers around him like Bangladesh, who is known for his collaborations with Ciara, Missy Eliot, Lil Wayne and Rihanna, and one of hottest producers in the game, Drumma Boy with such strong collaborations as T.I., Wiz Khalifa , Waka Flocka, Rick Ross, Birdman, Gucci Mane and Drake
Killa Cross takes an individualistic approach to his musical ideas but is always surrounded by his family to get a realistic perspective on life and music. He knows that faith, family and his most faithful friends come first, and it is these principles, combined with a relentless approach to life, that allow him to produce music at the highest level 100%.
He is currently working with different artists both domestic and international via Belgian, French and American hip-hop artists including Baby The Kid, J-Bil, High G, LaÏoung, Blood, J Skies, Mike Beezy, B.A.M.A., and Duff.E & Shelly. His vision and focus already have some new artist collaborations on the radar.
Killa Cross is riding a natural high because he is aware that his talent for producing and having patience and faith will bring forth the recognition for his talents on a global scale. Killa Cross is currently ahead of the game by scoring high ranks and grades as a sound engineer at the SAE institute. This educational structure will allow Killa Cross to set up his own production company, thereby creating a platform and foundation to produce various artists around the world for any genre.
