About Me
Mr. G aka Big Guilty was BORN IN DETROIT, a city well known for its hardships, low paying jobs and lack of opportunities. Like many Detroit residents, he quickly learned ‘street politics’ and grew up relatively fast. During the recession, he witnessed his family face financial struggle and moved to Baltimore, Maryland with no choice but to make to make it work and that’s exactly he did. The Detroit lifestyle prepared Mr. G for Baltimore and he immediately adapted. Like many young men born in poverty stricken environments, he found his hustle, his swag, and his voice. Now that his past is the past he can now focus on the present. He is a full time father, Mcee, engineer, producer, one half of VMH Entertainment LLC, and one Third of a business conglomerate. Through his music, he gives you just enough to understand his upbringing, but he doesn’t bore you with his pain, but gives you an example of how to overcome. His voice is his own and you can hear his Detroit/Baltimore accent blend. This sound and style is also evident in his production. With his partner Al, VMH Entertainment LLC is a soulful collection of instruments and runs like a well oiled machine. It’s a pleasure watching how these brothers create. It’s a process I wish more people could witness. Al provides soulful strings, horns and melodies with a 1970’s and beyond feel. Mr. G provides the hard snare, sample and drum to make it all work. No one can replicate this sound, it’s just impossible. “How do you replicate a style that comes from the head?” -Mr. G- Literally, I’ve hummed a tune and in minutes it’s played out. Recording sessions are like none other, it is truly a family affair. Children play to the sounds of VHM tracks and grease popping from home cooked meals. Thanks to the Queen of the house, VMH studio’s is hip-hop non-stop. It’s obvious we need more people to migrate from Detroit.
Jesus Christ. I hope none of you ever, ever, EVER write, shoot, or even be near a video shoot in your lives. You guys would put out the WACKEST videos ever created. If it were up to you guys the videos would have a bunch of tight jean homo thugs…
