The road to rap success apparently starts in Boston and ends in West Palm Beach-- at least thats the road that aspiring rapper Left Lane has taken to get his career off the ground. The Roxbury, Massachusetts native, born Dell Davis, says hes been rapping seriously for the past three or four years after spending many years, in his words, grinding, hustling, day in and day out. But after one Memorial Day visit to South Beach, Lane says he knew he had found his new home and place to hone his craft. After just getting out of jail, I came Memorial Day weekend and then decided to move here. It was a combination of that and the money situation. Not to mention the change of pace was good. Boston was leading me into trouble. But you know what they say-- its the people, places and things that you do that all get you into trouble, explains Lane. But its at least a 45 minute drive from South Beach to West Palm Beach. So why the move here? Basically, West Palm Beach is not as exposed as Miami and its right in the middle, Lane says, explaining that its not too fast and not too slow.
