- CHASTITY DANIELS A.K.A. LACHAT WAS BORN AND REARED IN MEMPHIS,TN. LACHAT BECAME INTERESTED IN MUSIC AT A YOUNG AGE, WATCHING MICHAEL JACKSON PERFORMING BILLY JEAN ON TELEVISION. FROM THIS, LACHAT BEGAN TO DEVELOP A LOVE FOR DIFFERENT STYLES OF MUSIC, FROM ARTISTS SUCH AS JAMES BROWN, TO MARVIN GAYE, AND HIP HOP ARTISTS SUCH AS MC LYTE, N.W.A., TUPAC, AND TRICK DADDY.
BY THAT TIME, LACHAT BEGAN TO FOLLOW HER OWN STYLE OF MUSIC. WITH HER LOVE OF THUG LIFE AND STREET POLITICS, HER WRITING SKILLS BEGAN TO FLOURISH WITH A NEW-FOUND PASSION THAT HELPED HER TO STAY ON TOP IN A MALE DOMINATED SOCIETY, ESPECIALLY IN THE RAP GAME. HER UNIQUE STYLE WITH SUCH BOLD CONFIDENCE INFLUENCED OTHER YOUNG FEMALE RAP ARTISTS PURSUE THEIR DREAMS IN THE RAP INDUSTRY.
DURING ONE PERFORMANCE, LACHAT WAS SPOTTED BY MEMBERS OF 3-6-MAFIA, A NATIONALLY KNOWN RAP GROUP, IN WHICH SHE ULTIMATELY BECAME A MEMBER, AND WAS FEATURED ON THEIR PLATINUM HIT SINGLE "CHICKENHEADS." LACHAT WENT ON TO FEATURE ON THREE MORE OF 3-6-MAFIA’S ALBUMS. LACHAT WAS A FEATURED ARTIST ON THE MOVIE SOUNDTRACKS OF "OZ" AND FEATURED ON THE SONG "BABY MAMA" IN THE MOVIE "BABY BOY." LACHAT ALSO HAD A STARRING ROLE IN THE MOVIE "CHOICES." HER FIRST SOLO ALBUM,"MURDER SHE SPOKE," RELEASED IN 2001, SOLD OVER 200,000 UNITS.
LACHAT HAD A MONEY SITUATION WITH HYPNOTIZE MINDS (3-6-MAFIA ’s LABEL) SO SHE BRANCHED OFF AND SHE RECENTLY WON AN AWARD FOR BEST FEMALE MIXTAPE ARTIST AT THE SOUTHERN ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS (S.E.A. AT GRAND CASINO TUNICA 2008). SHE HAS BEEN NOMINATED SEVERAL TIMES FOR OTHER AWARDS AS WELL. DURING THE SUMMER OF 2004 LACHAT RELEASED HER UNDERGROUND BACK IN THE DAY STREET ANTHEM "ULTIMATE REVENGE." WHILE UNITS OF "ULTIMATE REVENGE" WERE BEING SOLD, LACHAT RELEASED HER 2ND SOLO ALBUM IN THE FALL OF 2004, THE SELF TITLED "DRAMATIZED," WITH A ONE ALBUM DEAL WITH "RAP HUSTLAZ." NEW YEAR'S DAY, JANUARY 1, 2006, LACHAT FOUND A NEW HOME WITH "INEVITABLE ENTERTAINMENT," FOUNDER AND CEO YO GOTTI AND GRIP ENT. LACHAT'S 3RD SOLO ALBUM WAS RELEASED AUGUST 8, 2006, ENTITLED, "BAD INFLUENCE. RECENTLY RELEASED TO DA STREETS, DJ SMALLZ SOUTHERN SMOKE HOOD HOMEGIRL MIXTAPE.
