About Me

NYC was born in Manhattan.He was never situated in one place but always strived to better himself. Moves throughout the streets exposed him to a certain lifestyle as an adolescent.Growing up without his father he looked up to his uncle and mother who ran the area. Introduced to music through his family he would come to find out who his real father was. As time passed his mother met a man who would be her sons only rolemodel.He took them out of the hood and moved them upstate. After the death of his uncle,grandfather,and father he grew up quick.Music became his therapy.In October of 05 he was locked up. Now living a more positive lifestyle for his family he is taking his music more seriously, and has graduated high school after overcoming lifes obstacles. Appearing on local mixtapes and doing shows between opening acts and freestyle battles he is climbing his way to the top. Taking his fathers name and combining it with his buisness mentality he came up with his name.NYC, however is who the kid defines himself as. In recent interviews when asked how did Mr.NYC come up with that name he responded with a grin of confidence and quoted,"I truly believe I am still here for a purpose.Not so much to show the world who NYC is as an artist, but to prove that NYC isn't only my name...but my promise to my music and the world to show them that NYC is, can, and will be New Yorks Change. Together I know i can bring NY and this competitive sport (music) forward in a positive light." Thanking God everyday that he is still living thru all hes been through he spends time back and forth with his family and the studio. Putting his positive mentality to everything he does hes labeled as a positive role model and humble person.
