- As of this update (10/19/09), I am a 38 year old mother of 1, fiance to the most amazing man and a career woman at heart.
My primary background was in Human Resources. I was in that field for 10 years. In early 2004, I was "introduced" to the music industry. Mind you, I had NO intentions on being in the music industry because at the time when I was single, I was doing a little online dating (to meet men) and nearly EVERY man that contacted me was "in the music industry". But, I found a friend in someone who was managing an artist at the time and decided to help him with the project.
After a HUGE sum of money that I invested into our company, etc. and no contacts at the time, I decided that I needed to take another route. From there, I worked with a couple independent magazines that financially couldn't sustain and therefore launched KE Consulting & Marketing Solutions in January of 2006. Not having a clear direction, but access to various tools to enhance one's musical career, I started taking on clients as their Publicist. I represented a non profit organization that worked closely with A list celebrities and networks such as BET and Radio One, I represented signed talent such as Blood Raw on CTE/Def Jam, Alfamega on Grand Hustle/Capitol and unsigned talent like Wonder Arillo who is a producer with major artist placements such as T.I., Killa Mike (now Bigga Mike), Playaz Circle, etc.
In 2008, I cleared out my PR client roster (for a number of reasons) and decided that I was going to accept an opportunity with Street Report Magazine as their Editor-in-Chief. The magazine is progressing at a comfortable pace and it continues to evolve into a well balanced Lifestyle/Entertainment publication with each Issue. As well in late 2008, Wendy Day of RapCoalition and I launched In The Know Seminars, to provide monthly, online music industry conferences which has now been put on a hiatus as of August 2009; possibly permanent.
I'm a hard working, passionate individual in the music industry. I'm not fascinated by red carpets and flashing lights (unless its a client of mine that is on it). I'm not a socialite that "needs to be seen" nor am I about any of the hoopla b*******. I do what I do because I believe in uplifting and helping whoever I work closely with.
