About Me
Welcome to the page of Hamlin! Hamlin was born into the music business. Hamlin was born in Kingston, Jamaica. Hamlin then moved to Brooklyn, New York where his music was not only introduced to reggae but a new music which was taking off called Hip-hop. Growing up in the 80s in New York was a different time. This is where he embraced the Hip-hop culture. From break dancing with friends Hamlin as a child was caught up in the lifestyle at a young age. Hamlin attended private school as a young child was very smart for his age. Hamlin grew up with his mother only after his parents were divorced by age 5. Hamlin moved to South Florida as young child but forced to move back to New York after his house in Florida was burnt down to the ground. His mother recieved third degree burns which forced her to be airlifted to the hospital for 2 years to treat the wounds. With no mother or father to take care of him Hamlin lived with his grandparents, aunt, uncles and cousins in one house! With no adult supervision most of the time he was forced to grow up and raise his cousins by age 8. By age 10, he still was a great student but always got into fights and trouble at school and in the neighborhood. After that he was forced to move back to Florida to be near his biological father. During his time his family was in the entertainment industry. Hamlin got serious about sports and school. Hamlin played soccer, basketball, baseball, & football in school. As he got older Hamlin then played high school football. A bad injury to his knee forced Hamlin not to play sports again. Hamlin then got serious about music and wrote raps on his spare time. Hamlin also held house parties as a teenager with friends and perfomed. After getting a great response from people he performed at local talent shows and lunch time at school. Hamlin realized he wanted to take his music business serious so he went straight to Full Sail after graduating high school. At Full Sail Hamlin learned about the entertainment business and graduated from Full Sail. By age 19, with a degree he went back home to pursue his career. Hamlin then met alot of local groups and performed at various clubs and talent shows. Hamlin was manager of a local record store in Fort Lauderdale. Hamlin was also an engineer and worked on mixes for new artists and edited and recorded commercials for radio. By age 21, Hamlin perfomed for many local clubs and venues. The biggest crowd was a crowd of over 10,000 people! By age 23, he then traveled to California, Canada, Minnesota, and New York where he grew up to gain status in the entertainment industry. By age 25, he quit the entertainment business to better his life and change his ways. After years of frustration he then came back to the entertainment business to pursue his dream with a new outlook on life. By age 28, he went back to help promote parties and connected with major djs, promoters, & artists in the industry. Now Hamlin also performed marketing and promotional duties for artists (Radio, TV, internet and street team). Hamlin performs road & tour management for national performing artists and indie artists. Hamlin troubleshoots and mixes for sound checks and live performances at clubs and venues.
