- East Atlanta (Zone 6) born and raised Glenwood Leylo is the new era of Hip Hop! After spending 8 years in Federal prison he booked studio time recording song after song in a three day period before even spending time with his family. The last artist to do such a thing even remotely close was 2Pac Shakur, which he is already being compared to as well as UGK member Bun B and Scarface. But don't get it twisted, Leylo's main focus s taking care of his family. But he knows that he has to take care of himself before he can care for others. "I only know how to do two things, run the streets,and make good music. I'd rather do the latter. I aint trying to go back to the pen." With a statement like that Leylo's focus is apparent.
With his first single appropriately titled "I'm coming" Glenwood Leylo is sure to make a good first impression. But Leylo is not a rookie. Before serving time for Bank Robbery he was actually signed to a Inde label who helped him get a single on a movie soundtrack. After doing opening shows for headliners like T.I., Pastor Troy, and more, major labels began calling. But before he could attend any meetings he was arrested. The vacation gave him time to think about his future in the music business. So he begin studying any and every book that had any education on the music business. He also stayed in a performance comfort zone by performing in front of fellow inmates.
Now that Glenwood Leylo is home he is picking up where he left off. And the new music is already receiving great reviews. He is definitely making a bold statement with songs like I Got em, Affiliated (which sounds like a Gangland soundtrack), Lay em Flat, and 48 Bars(No Hook).
But wait there's more! Leylo was also able to complete three unpublished novels, and two screenplays. Sounds like he used his time wisely.
Glenwood Leylo is quickly on the rise with little effort. He's making it look easy. Its going to be interesting to see how far he goes. But one things for sure. In his case its only one way to go......UP!
