- Real Talk, owner and founder of FloodDaBlockEnt has been writing music since 1993. His years of experience as a DJ, rapper, hip-hop artist, and producer has not only established himself but also has worked with top notch producers in the industry. Has also expanded the FloodDaBlock name by performing at high profile events such as: Lj's in Charleston, South Carolina, Kleo Center, SouthSide of Chicago 119 E. Garfield between Indiana and Michigan to be exact. Real Talk aka Gutta has been featured in radio interviews, requested to be on major national mixtapes such as Coast 2 Coast and has worked with Phantom Music Productions where the producer goes by the name of Philly Flame, Carol Mcmillan of Talent 2K, Joe Gentile of Deka Records based out of Europe, Dj Vlad owner of Vlad tv.com, Dj Noize based out of Germany,and that's just to name a few. Real Talk was born and raised on the NorthSide of Chicago. He has sold thousands of copies, not only locally but reaching as far as South Carolina and Arkansas, and has a high fan base following his progress since 2000. He has put out 20 mixtapes non-stop since 2007. Including the 3 artists he signed: Lil K aka Animosity based out of Arkansas Pine Bluff to be exact, The Chill based out of Orangeburg, South Carolina, South Cackalacky, also Eliana based out of Chicago IL. Real Talk's latest mixtape 12-15-82 (the mixtape album) was considered his best mixtape yet. When combining Hip-Hop, R&B, Spanish and Rap he becomes the artist that he truly is. As competition to be heard gets tougher,Gutta stays true to his hip-hop roots by refusing to succumb to commercial rap. His love for the art and language usage is expressed through his versatile manner of presenting himself and his passions. As an upcoming artist, Real Talk singles himself out from the mainstream rap artists by allowing his music to present all sides of who he truly is. He does this through his constantly changing styles of rap, hip-hop, some intimate songs (for the ladies of course), and even some Spanish. He thanks his family and close friends for all the support. How Did This B**** N**** Get a Deal ???
It was a slow week for Hip-Hop on the album charts as Hurricane Chris' debut album "51/50 Ratchet" managed to move only 26,000 copies entering the Billboard Top 200 at #24.
Also debuting this week were Little Brother with their new album "Getback" featuring Lil' Wayne on the song "Breakin' My Heart." The album debuted at #89 with 9,600 copies sold. The album is the duos first without 9th Wonder.

Hurricane Chris Lame Ass!!

it was poor marketing.. and single choice..
i think.. that the follow up single wasnt as catchy as A Bay Bay was and it wasnt a quarter as popular..
if he had sold the album 2 weeks after that got popular.. then he wouldve went over 100,000 easy..
and A Bay Bay didnt have the elements compared to Crank Dat and Wipe Me Down..
it wasnt that Catchy (like wipe me down was), it didnt have a dance (like crank dat).. it didnt… Continue

As we mentioned at the beginning of the month, Hurricane Chris is the new spokesperson for the Fila Helmsman sneaker. Check out the ad here which is running in various urban/hip-hop magazines now. Reader reaction at Wooohah.com has been pretty fierce calling the Helmsman a Prada sneaker rip-off and Hurricane Chris a joke of an endorsement.
Regardless, now check out the commercial for the Helmsman which of course stars Hurricane Chris and is currently on air. I’m trying to stay unbiased on this…but if you thought the shoes look bad…well…judge for yourself and take a look at the commercial. Fila has signed on Hurricane Chris to help promote the new Fila Helmsman shoe which is already getting dogged in the sneaker community for being a Prada sneaker rip-off. Ads featuring Hurricane Chris and the Fila Helmsan have been circulating in various lifestyle and music magazines this past month along with appearances by Hurricane Chris promoting the sneaker. Check out the full page ad after the jump.
It does seem a little strange that of all hip-hop artists, Fila picks Hurricane Chris of “Ay, Bay, Bay” fame. Shows how desperate corporate America is to find any way to reach the “urban” audience. Next thing you know, the makers of the Super Soaker water gun will sign on Soulja Boy as a sponsor…without even knowing what “super soak that ho” really means.
