All eyes are on Fat Fish Entertainment, a southwest hip hop and R&B label from Albuquerque, New Mexico, whose notoriety is spilling over into cups of mainstream America. It all began with a group of friends, a dream, and a nickname that created this label in June 2002. Fat Fish started with CEO's Estevan (stevie) Melendez and George Fisher; producers Yung Bizzle and Jiggie; hip hop artists Boy Dirrt, Bamboozle, A. Fish (R.I.P.); and R&B sensation T. Jackson.
Later in 2005, the Fat Fish family expanded with hip hop artists Bill Shakes, Chavez and the creation of a new group The G.B.U. (The good, the bad, and the ugly), who incorporated artists Boy Dirrt, Bamboozle, and Jiggie da beast. Also, acclaimed producer/lyricist and protoge of Mac Dre (R.I.P.), S.Y.K.O., has been recently added to the arsenal.
Fat Fish is the sound of fusion: West Coast, Dirrty South, Midwest. Whether it be a club banger or a slow jam, their style is oh-so-chill, yet bold and in-your-face. The Vitamin Music/Just got paid (double disc), their most recent project, gives a boost to the rap game otherwise deficient. Now step your game up and press play!
