D-Powell has been writing since a young age but never recorded until 2007. After some solo projects, he started his own label called Mafia Productions. He signed several other artists to be on the label but the label collapsed and disbanded due to communication reasons between artists. D-Powell then helped form the group Get Money Gang (GMG). D-Powell recruited several other artist to be in the group and expanded GMG into a label called GMG Records. The current artists include G-Man, AZ, Big Ike, and DJ C-Smoke. YoungFlyNFlashy, DJ Blac Out, and Yung Fly are former artists on GMG Records. Gettin Money Entertainment is a former label under GMG Records. Currently, D-Powell is working on the GMG projects and his solo project.
