To examine rap in it's current form, one is likely to find an industry overrun with mediocrity. Yet if you were to venture beyond this monotony in hopes to find something more, something grand, something inspiring… Your journey would lead to Crown. From Brooklyn, NY, the journey of Crown Loyal begins at Bedford-Stuyvesant in the Jackie Robinson Projects where he was born to his Panamanian parents, as the 3rd of their 4 children. Since the earliest years of his youth, his infatuation with hip hop was evident as he was consumed by the images on his parent's television set, mimicking the dance moves he observed on films such as Krush Groove and Breakin. As time progressed his love for the culture increased as he experienced the growth of Hip Hop first hand, from local rap battles in his neighborhood, to video shoots from classic records such as Public Enemy's "Fight the Power" being shot near his home.As his understanding of Hip Hop matured, his ability to write and recite the lyrics from his favorite albums from artist such as Jay-Z, Nas, Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, Wu Tang Clan, and many others, evolved into him being able to write and recite his own lyrics and develop a sound of his own. As his sound matured, chatter about his talent spread throughout the city, leading to his participation in local rap battles, and exhibitions for other artist including the likes of Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz.Yet, despite the momentum Crown garnered in his growth as a rap artist, his success was coupled with the tragedy of losing family members and multiple friends to the streets of Brooklyn. It was at this point where the dire importance of his success at his craft was established. Even more-so when the violence in the streets of Brooklyn was no longer an occurrence he observed from afar, because by the time he reached his late teens, that same violence in the form of multiple gunshots, nearly took his life as well. As a result, he decided to get away from the streets and enlist in the Air Force to serve his country.During this time, Crown traveled the country and was eventually stationed in California where he continued to gain momentum as an artist and was eventually encouraged to create a mixtape. Once released, everyone took notice, including promoters, dj's, and producers in which he established various connections to further along his career as an artist. Through these connections he began performing as an opening act for various artist, including Blacksheep, Fabolous, Fat Joe, KRS One, Lil Kim, Maino, Mims, Trey Songz, and the Ying Yang Twins.Through these shows he has been able to establish a name for himself, along with a growing fanbase, both of which caught the attention of numerous record labels. Through his relentless work ethic and unique position of being an East Coast artist operating out of the West Coast, Crown has emerged as the latest signee to the Legendary Media Group/Bungalo Records/Universal joint venture, and is effectively building momentum as a rising artist in the music industry. Looking to the future, Crown is preparing to take his story, message, and unique sound to the national stage.
