Cheryl Bush started writing at the age of 12 when she saw her mother writing stories at her kitchen table. A prolific poet she has expressed herself in many poems, boxes of them. She now writes both poetry and prose. A prolific writer, she reaches into her heart and deep within her soul to reach a reader. She has been published in Poetry Magazine in three of their issues and has been an integral part of the publishing process. Although she is not currently an active member, she has attended many of The Long Island Writers Guild workshops. In her own words: "Some call it talent...others a gift...I just call it what it is.. my soul reaching out to yours... my mind floating away on a cloud...my heart beating to the rhythm of my charismatic tune." "When I need to escape, I lay across my bed, with pen in hand, and let my feelings flow across the pages. I write how I feel at that time. Then I write how I want to feel, and what would make me feel that way. Poetry has become my medication over the years. It's my anti-depressant, my stimulant, and my pain reliever all balled up in one, although sometimes my soul reaches out to be soothed by another's creative outlet."~~
