- Chalant (Shuh-lant) who was born Keith Dixon Jr. is an Oakland California native and an upcoming Bay Area Hip-Hop artist. His influence in music started with his mom who was the director of her church choir and a vocalist herself. Chalant started playing the piano at the age of 10 and eventually formed a group Big Bang Theory (BBT), with a now popular underground rapper “D Willz.” Chalant attended Howard University in Washington DC and there he started working with some of the newest and freshest music producers on the East Coast. His music has an East Coast feel and a West Coast flavor. Chalant's lyrics are raw, relevant, timely, and uplifting. Chalant’s musical goals sole are to inspire his fans through his music, style, and commitment to his art form. SoChalantmusic is a genre of music created by Chalant that lyrically focuses on life experience and turning negatives into positives. Music has a profound effect on the culture and youth and Chalant understands that. That's why he wrote his first single “Billionaire Dreams” a song about being broke and still never giving up on himself.
