On July 1, 2010, Campbell was summoned by the war crimes trial against Charles Taylor of Liberia at the UN-backed Special Court for Sierra Leone in Leidschendam to give evidence on receiving a "blood diamond". Not appearing at the trial as summoned is punishable by up to 7 years in prison; however Campbell appeared as scheduled as a witness for the prosecution on August 5, 2010.

WASHINGTON (AFP) – Canine lovers were in mourning Thursday at the news that a bug-eyed Chinese crested hairless pooch, who was officially crowned the "World's Ugliest Dog," has died at age 17.



The lovable Miss Ellie, whose lopsided tongue always stuck out of the side of her mouth, died on Tuesday in her Tennessee home, the local Mountain Press daily newspaper said.

Umpire Jim Joyce wiped away tears as he took the field, a day after his blown call cost Detroit pitcher Armando Galarraga a perfect game.



Major League Baseball is still deciding whether to review the call.



Joyce and Galarraga met at home plate Thursday afternoon as the pitcher presented the umpire with the Tigers’ lineup card. Joyce shook hands with Galarraga and patted him on the shoulder.
