You need new life, strength, stamina, culture, personality and talent. You need BRIXZ !!! BRIXZ is that one diamond in the rough. He’s that gem that shines so brightly in a field of rocks that you have to check him out to see what he’s all about.



Growing up between South Jamaica, Queens and Teaneck, NJ, BRIXZ (born Jamel Kerr), always called the streets home. While his single mother of four struggled to provide for her children, he always seemed to be the black sheep. The frequent and almost futile attempts to send him to queens under his father's care, only made matters worse. Somehow, BRIXZ always managed to spend the majority of his time in and around the neighborhood. He is often- times called a product of the streets. "People think that Teaneck is the suburbs. Please don't let the green grass and the houses fool ya," states BRIXZ. "I always felt more comfortable with the masses".



By the time BRIXZ started attending Teaneck high school, he was already a local celebrity. He was always the go-to guy for what's hot. "My love for hip-hop was always innate, but my early teenage years is when I really started pursuing my passion. "I know people always say this, but I live and breathe Hip-Hop".



The name BRIXZ was given to Jamel by his peers. Some say that the name’s legend derived from the way he "bangs" his opponents....Hard and non-stop. Others say that it represents his reputation with the ladies. "I go hard !!!!!!!".



After a few years on the local circuit in Teaneck, BRIXZ walked into Teaneck's newest hot spot, Fat's Chicken & Rib Joint, then owned by Jazz Young-Trinidad (marketing specialist & formally of Def Jam & Bloodline Records). "At first I wondered why every time this kid walked in the restaurant, a crowd walked in behind him and we became extra busy. I soon learned that he was good for my business. Then I heard him rhyme and it was over !" BRIXZ was in the studio the next day.



Shortly thereafter, BRIXZ’s road to stardom was abruptly curtailed by an arrest and sentence to 3 years for aggravated assault. While away, BRIXZ kept writing as he learned an even more valuable life lesson. "NEVER trust snitches." After an early supervised release, BRIXZ went straight from the jail cell to the booth. He confines himself to the studio where he feels comfortable. He is currently working on his self-titled debut album.
