probably mean "Schoolly D" not "Spoony G" lol..the rest are Boogie Down Productions, Ice T, Run DMC, gangsta rap was popularized by NWA..

Out of those three? Eazy-E, no question, he came out before the other two even picked up the mic. Eazy and NWA was what really put gangsta rap on the map on a major level, although cats like Kool G Rap, Schoolly D and even Ice-T did do pretty successful and critically acclaimed gangsta records before NWA.
