Permalink Reply by YoungGeeza on ppl had been illegally downloading and bootlegging music before sales started declining like that tho. I think itunes and digital music are to blame as well. Everybody tryna make commercial singles to sell singles so at the end of the day you either get pop or techno sounding singles or hip hop singles that all kinda sound the same. The quality of albums went down this way and ppl don't really care to buy albums anymore.
