This is a hard list to make and I wont mention Biggie or Pac because everbody gonna put them in their list and they are legends and had a great impact on Hip Hop and it is amazing how they are talked about everyday after years of them being gone. Only way any rapper can top them now is that they have to die, and be relevant ten years after their death like they are.All due respect they are the greastest but they are in a different category, they are icons and legends ya digg. But here my list:
5. Mac Dre, aka Thizzele Washington. Man Dre is a serious artist and had a big impact on the whole Bay Area, He still got cats wearing stunting shades and on grapes and heem. He originated the hyphy movement, and he is a king in the Valley Joe. R.I.P. to Mac Dre, he paved the way and inspired the Bay Area, area full of talented artist that is on they independent grind. I have to shot out some other rappers from the Bay that go hard, My cuss cuss PSD, da Drivah da Guru, the whole Thizz Nation, my dude Hennessy Martini with Go Big Ent, My dude Ronnie Swagg, Willie Joe, E40 and Droop E is sick on the production, Rydah J. Klyde, Keak da Sneak, and big up to da cuss cuss Boozilla and the list goes on.
4.Scarface, Scarface has been consistently dropping classic material for 20 years. I also felt dude, I can relate to his music so well, he has those songs and lines that hit your soul. I hate to hear him retire, but Face love music too much I think he coming back early. The Diary, The Fix, Made, they are all classic. My Mind Playing Tricks on me was like the illest s*** I had ever heard. I can remember all the real hustler in my hood pumping Scarface religiously. He worked with Pac, I bet he got songs with Pac he never released. Face paved the way for alot of cats to make it out of Houston. Pimp C and Bun B didnt make my list, but they are some of my favorites also. I think Scarface and UGK helped each others career. They made the music to get people through the struggle, artsist cant make that type of music anymore. I think that music cant be touched classic. Also Devin the Dude out of Houston. Devin is dope he is one of my favorite arstist because he make real people music that the average n**** can relate to and laugh at but at the same time he got mad lyrics and his s*** is original. Also I have to shout out Andre 300 he from another planet, but he one of my favorite.
3. 50 Cent. Fiddy in my opinion was the first artist to blow up by using the mixtape game. Nobody did it like he did. Then 50 f***** the game up when he applied that same hustlers ambition to the corporate world, I dont think nobody ever got the power in the game as early as 50 received it. Whats cool bout 50 he put his team on, if anybody with 50 they eating. I have to shot out Dr. Dre for giving 50 that production on GeT Rich or Die Trying, I remember being in the House of Blues in New Orleans and DJ Raj Smoove played the whole Get Rich or Die TRying disc all the way through and the club was crunk. I also have to shot out Em, he didnt make my list but he is a big artist that I believe opened up Fifty to a new market that no one could reach but Em.
2.Lil Wayne, aka Weezy Baby. I put Weezy in this position because the n**** is mad talented and he works hard as hell. I been listened to Weezy ever since true story, and his flow and voice was alwayz unique to me. He used to make sound effects and he always was spitting some real street s***, no disrespect but you could never compare him to a lil Bow Wow, with the content of his music. I think ever since 500 Degreez and when he turned in to Weezy F. Baby he picked his flow up tremendously when the Hot Boys broke up. I think Weezy diversity and rockstar style puts him into a different genre. No doubt he is hip hop but he crosses over to many different markets. He been killing the underground, Cash Money been moving mad units before they signed the deal. Now Weezy has more exposure, he got tv, bet, mtv, radio, internet, and the streets buzzing constantly, when you have that popping at the same time you gonna be on fire. He also represent the N.O in a great way, but I have to shot out more talented artist from the New Orleans. I got to shot out SHow, he the future of New Orleans rap, and my dude Shorty with E.G.M.G., Rip to Soulja Slim, and hold ya head Mac, Currency, Raw Dizzy, Mack Maine,C Murder, and big up to Manny Fresh, he a beast.
1. Jay Z, Jigga my m************ n****. I feel Jigga because he put his self on in. No label didnt wanna f*** with him at first so he built an empire. He is the God of rap Hova. Resonable Doubt was an amazing body of work. I believe Hov had to dumb it down for the mainstream. So on the BluePrint he gave us a lil bit of everything to make the hood and the mainstream happy, and that s*** dropped on 9-11, that was crazy.American Gangsta was crazy, that s*** was on point, he did a movie with that album. That was some inteligent s***. It was a smash, a classic in my opinion, and Hov get so much respect and he giving hip hop a bigger vision. His flow so witty and so many people jack his flow and style. I know he use Biggie lines sometimes but he only bigging up his brother, this n**** actual knew Big and had tracks with him, I think when you uses a Big line that s*** makes his music even more cool. Jigga the King of New York, New York is a hard city to stay on stop, they have so many talented artist, and thats where Hip Hop was created. And Jay got big endorsements from major companies, he was the president of Def Jam and he still be talking that hustler s***. Jay is that dude and he constantly making history, on the outside looking in he got it all, even the baddest chick in the Game, and I love how Jay dont respond to when people diss em but when he does he airs them out. Shout out to Nas also I think he should of made the list Nas is dope, but to me I think he could never take it to whre Jay Z did, but I think Nas cool with that though. I also credit artist like Styles, Jada Kiss, Clipse, for making that hustler music. Jay Z is the Godfather of flow and number one on my list, I know Nore was the first to rhyme on Neptune beat but Jigga brought them to the lime light and he brought Kanye out and I feel he inspired Kanye to make that soulful production. ANd Jay gave careers to many artist like Beanie Siegal cats that nobody else would give a chance to.
SO there is my list 5.Mac Dre, 4. Scarface, 3.50 Cent, 2. Lil Wayne, 1.Jay Z
