WHAT WERE YOU DOING WHEN YOU FIRST HEARD THAT MICHAEL JACKSON DIED???
Sorry people, I don't mean to go MJ thread crazy, but I was just wondering what everyone was doing at the moment they first heard it. I mean, it's like one of those moments that'll go down in history because of how monumental it was. Almost like hearing of a president dying. I haven't lived through any major assasinations, but, I know I can remember what I was doing during other events, like 9/11 attacks (in geometry at hs), but as for when I heard that MJ died........
I was washing dishes when the phone rang. My girl was sittin on the couch listening to her ipod and reading a book (don't ask how). Had to dry my hands off to pick up. I thought my boy was callin to talk sports (NBA Draft), but he just basically came out and said "Mike dead". I listened to him talk about how great "Man In the Mirror" was a few minutes before I finally got off the phone to get my own confirmation. Turned it on CNN, and there it was................what were you doing and what was your first reaction?

I got on my yahoo messenger and a friend of mine IMed me like "Yo MJ died!" I said, "you don't mess around like that about Michael Jackson, you know that right?". He swore he died, and he was so sad it was his son b-day. I went to all kinds of sites and read that Mike died and I hadnt even heard about him being rushed into the hospital... It didn't hit me till about 10 mins after I heard it, it was just soo surreal...Even though CNN hadn't confirmed it, I knew Mike was gone though... just a feeling.. I still couldnt get myself together...

Yeah, I know. It's still kinda hard to believe. I didn't hear about him being rushed to the hospital either. I had the tv on ESPN waitin on the draft and washin dishes. But, when I turned it, I seen that ESPN was pretty much one of the only channels not covering it.

I was on Hip-Hop Dx went it happened....listenin' 2 some of the tracks they had.....when my mom came in the room 4rm work.....said wazzup 2 her n' wat not...gave here a hug....anyways....She said "Did you hear about Michael Jackson?.....he died."....I didn't wanna believe it at first so I asked her again what she said.....still didn't believe her....so then i went out to the upstairs living room....I saw my sister and my mom both glued to the TV screen.....there it was....on CNN...." Michael Jackson dead at 50"......I was in total shock......this couldn't have happened I was thinking to myself while watching this......I ran back 2 my laptop and went to thisis50's main page.....title of news...."Michael Jackson Dies-RIP MJ".....

Yeah man. The news spread quick homey. Everybody was callin everybody, hell, I know I text 6 people when I found out. I was hopin my boy was jokin when he called, but he wouldn't call out the blue with no b******* like that. I knew it was real. At first I was tryna be in that "oh well" attitude, but I couldn't do it wit Mike. Growing up listening to all his music, damn.

I wuz sleepin&ma home girl walked in&she wuz like:"Yo,Elena MJ died..!"N i wuz like"Riiiight-like i believe u..Leave me alone&imma get up in a min.."..She wuz like:"Im serioz,im not bs..!"N i saw "the" face..Nxt thing i kno wuz dat i wuz infrnt of the TV wit opened mouth..I still cant believe it..Mabye cuz i grew up wit hiz music(who didnt?!)n neva thought dat that cud happen 2 him-"the eternal man"..He went thru errythin infront of the eyes of his fans..I just pray dat ppl will let him rest in peace..
