To My understanding HIP HOP started with dudes in the cities talking about life, it's experiences and the enviroment that surrounded them, alot of these new artist are skilled and yes they are talented but to me Soulja Boy doesn't fit the description of what I've always believed to be hip hop ......... guys like D.J. unk yes they make popular music but for the most part they're just repeating the same 4 or 5 lines over and over add a dance move and thats thier whole gimmick no story no feeling just repeatative music

What is Real Hip Hop ? I dunno its a matter of opinions really , everybody has a different answer to the question, but for me real hip hip is emotion in you're lyrics so u grab the audience and not rapping about material things rapping about what the average male and female can relate to the struggles of life IMO.

Hip hop is a way of life. Hip Hop is a m*********** rappin over beats rather its garbage or not. Everything in life has a good and a bad so hip hop has garbage in it too. It also so has some greatness. Souljah boy is hip hop just like Krs 1. He is just hip hop to the youngins.
