Do you think we can ever be free of slavery's mental chains, if we constantly degrade ourselves and keep the slave master's favorite word alive in our own community?

Note: Anyone who says "N****" is a different word than "N*****" is a moron. It's the same damn word and it means the same damn thing!

Yours is too high. You defend it.
that's from that lifetime achievement mixtape song.that's my n**** son.LMAO
Only African-Americans call each other "niggas." Black people in Africa don't call each other "niggas"-- the only dudes who ever say "n****" are the guys who try so desperately to act like African-Americans because they see all the rappers on T.V. and think "Wow, that's so cool", so they try to walk, talk and dress like the African-American stereotypes-- baggy clothes, chains and all that s***. To the rest of us, the sheep who try to imitate African-Americans are just dumb f**** and they don't command respect from anyone, calling each other "niggas" and "homies" and imitating African-American accents. The sad thing is that there's too many people who want to be like African-Americans, because all the rappers give some ignorant f**** the impression that they ought to betray their own identity so they can associate themselves with the 'bling' and the 'gangsta s***'. So this "n****" word, because its used so often by African-American rappers is starting to infiltrate young Africans' minds because they think that's 'cool.' Of course, that's not an 'African-American' problem, but an 'ignorant African problem', but it's the little things like saying "n****" all the time that causes identity crises, not only amongst the youth in Africa who idolize the rappers and a lot of the African Americans on T.V, but also the young African-Americans who, as some of y'all say, grow up hearing the word spat out so often, they forget the negative connotations associated with it. This thread, however, will not change a thing, but if at least one person can get an appreciation of their own ignorance and the snowball effect of their ignorance and the damage it does, then there's light at the end of the tunnel. And going slightly off-topic, I hope Obama's win can inspire some young black people to think a little bigger than the hood/gangsta mentality which a lot of y'all seem to be hooked on.
I don t even understand how this guy is talking about using the word n**** after he just called my yout a wanna b black!!! lmao just chill we say what we want as long as it's not stoppin my everyday life then f*** what ya'll think or what ya'll heard.
What does one thing have to do with the other?
It is a problem when WE say it. If white ppl called you "Assshole" for centuries and you turned aroung and claimed calling yourself "A******" was empowering, you're brainwashing and poisoning your own future generations to keep it alive. Thats wrong.
nah son..its all different..like if a person comes up to you and say whats up my n***** you beat the f*** out that n****..haha
like where i live its a bunch of white boys that say n****...personally i dont f***** care but as soon as they come at me with that n***** s*** we got a problem...thats just what i say..niggas think differently than i do
Its the same word though. The white man is the one who said you shouldn't be offended by the different spelling. It was spelled "N*****" on Richard Pryor albums and everything else back in the day. Jerry Heller (NWA's manager) spelled it "Niggaz" on NWA albums and lo and behold. Now it's cool to spell it that way. Wake up people.
tru...
And to the person who said something about black people 'empowering' themselves by 'owning' their own variation of the word 'n*****', that's not a logical analogy. What you are implying is that if there's a white slave master whipping the black man, the way to empower black people is to let them whip each other. NO. The way to empower black people is not to whip each other, but to get rid of the whip, which is what Dirty Math is trying to tell you with this thread. If you can't understand that, then God help you.
Bingo!
IT NOT A TERM FOR EVERYBODY JUST US! WE ARE NOT DOWNGRADING OURSELVES JUST BECASUE WE USE IT. ITS JUST A PART OF OUR DAILY LANGAUGE. YEAH IT WAS USED TO DISCRACE US COMING UP BUT IT HAS CHANGED FORMS IN OUR CULTURE! BUT N**** AND N***** IS TO DEFINE THE MEANING OF THE WHOLE THING.
