I'm posting this here cuz I'm a member, but I also specifically joined his (Deeperthenrap) site using a junk e-mail and posted this same forum... for 1 reason to let his "fans" know if your supporting this fake, you need to either wake up or at least do what he can't do and ADMIT you ain't from the hood.
I been to prison I'm not proud of it,I would much rather be out with my kids, but I'll tell you this much, NO C.O. is secretly a drug lord, his next line will be that the job was a front for his huge drug trafficking empire...
I promise you, watch, now that he FINALLY admitted it in XXL, now he gonna come out and say that's how he met his connect blah blah blah...that s*** don't happen. Cool C.O.'s might not write you up if they catch you making Pruno (Homemade alcohol) or some s***, but that's about it. All that other s*** is FANTASY, it's s*** from the movies.
If you buy that, you definitely been watching way too many movies.

I feel you, I just have a different take on it.
For me if a m*********** want to spit and he got skills then fine. Regardless of his background, a dope M.C. is a dope M.C. period. But it's like you said, ALL Hip-Hop isn't about the hood and slangin D. If you from the streets, then you have a right (and a reason) to speak on it. If not, that's fine, you can still rhyme, just switch the topic up, do something you know about.
That's why I find "Rick Ross" to be so offensive.
He denied his actual life and swore up and down that his rhymes were real. That to me is not the type of person I can even kick with it much less support. He actually perpetuated the stereotype that all rappers were thugs by doing that s***. I may have even been able to give him a chance had he just been real from the gate.
He reminds me of that Jamie Kennedy character from "Malibu's Most Wanted" B-Rad.

For me, even if the song is hot, I won't even listen to him anymore.
