An artist gets advance money from thier contract. Take 50 for example..... He signed a 1 million dollar deal. That was his advance money. Which also means he was 1 million dollars in the red. He wont see any more money from Interscope until his album sales equal 1 million dollars. Then his debt w/ Interscope will be 0. After that.... royalties kick in.

Well royalties come from your album saling. Or from a song saling. That's normally a 3 month distance. So you'll either get a check every 3 or 6 months from album sales (if it sales). And the amount of these checks are gonna depend on the agreement you signed with your label. And these are called "points."

And to answer your next question, points are - the number to distinguish how much it costs to package an album.

So theres 100 points per CD. Alot of artist will get like 15 points and feel all good. If 100 points equals 1 cd, thats $10, your 15 points will be 15 cents. 15 cents per cd. Is that alot? Hell no. Especially when you consider the fact that there is really a 200 point system. Its really 100 points for the label and 100 for the artist. The just cover it up with slick lawyer talk.

And askin a manager, or a label rep or whoever u think I am for money is settin yo self up for a f***** up deal. If I spent $300,000 to record and master your "dope" album. Then spent $100,000 pressing up copies of your "dope" album to sale.... How u gon pay me back?

Either when you do shows, I'll take more than the traditional 20% to make my money back.... Or you'll get 0 points out of your royalties until I get my money back. And thats not including the advance money your gonna owe the label (that's described some where in this thread).

This is what we will be telling you while we're spending all this money on you to record an album that you won't make any money off of.
