Now Its Confirmed BISD Sell 150K 50 Cent Speaks Out About "BISD" Poor First Week Sales, Maybe #5 @ Billboard [Interview Inside Audio]
50 Cent is defending the poor sales of Before I Self Destruct, blaming the album's weak performance on an internet leak.
Instead of crawling into the hole of embarrassment and laying low, 50 took to Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex to offer an explanation of the leak and why he's not responsible for the album's weak sales.
"With the actual outcome of the project, once the record leaks from the international plant, what more can I do," 50 explained in the interview. "I can't, I held the record long enough to get it to them, to mix and master it and for them to ship it and then it leaks from the plant internationally, I'm like come on, then that's it. They lost the ball. You know what I mean, if the numbers look funny to me, it's they fault."
As previously reported, 50's Before I Self Destruct is set to barely hobble into the Top 5 with 160,000 copies sold.
The projections came as a shock to many, as the rapper's album initially debuted at the number one spot on iTunes.
50 was also optimistic about this album, his fourth effort, as he revealed in a recent interview with Jenny Boom Boom TV.
"All you gotta do is get the response," he explained. "The response is so well, so good, that I know the record is a hit. So whether they consumed it from actually purchasing it or they got it off the web or wherever they got it from, when they hear it and enjoy it, they end up at the show. How can I focus on album sales now when it's to the point where my record is released four weeks before schedule. The marketing, everything that's planned to sell the actual record, is happening four weeks late, now that the record is out a month early. You know, those things are happening after they had an opportunity to hear it and it's confirmation to the doubters that the record wouldn't be good."

STILL NO 1 FINDS IT WIERD HOW JOHN MAYER WOULD SELL 350,000- 400,000 albums and i never heard his songs/ no promo. I listen to pop station in ny too, never heard it and i like john (no homo). I thinks somthings f***** wierd with those predicitons.

this just goes to show that his music is not hot anymore. no one is hating on 50. the cd is not hot. its just ok. i got the cd monday when it dropped. in my opinion he was never all that good of an mc. he could write tight hooks and he could pick tight beats. all of that is missing on bisd as it was on curtis. and instead of sticking to the script of what made him hot he tryin to make songs for the ladies to get spins on the radio. can we be real? is baby by me really a hit? or is it just a radio friendly song used to get spins? on the whole cd maybe 4 or 5 songs are any good. thats not hate. artistically its not a good cd. i been a gunit fan since his first cd. he aint bringing it anymore. he rich he got money but fans wanna hear hot music. not somebody bragging about how much money they got over corny beats. and the album leaking is a corny excuse. what big artist album doesnt leak? jays album leaked, fabs album leaked, eminem album leaked so thats no excuse. of course you got diehard fans who in their eyes 50 can do no wrong but thats every artist. s*** maybe he got too many yes men around him and he doesnt realize it. he needs help with picking some hot beats or something. it amazes me how he claims he wrote songs on games first album, kicks him out of gunit, yet every cd game dropped since then was hot. curtis was corny and as you can hear bisd aint much better. maybe he should pretend like hes writing for game and put out an album if thats the case. hes a smart business man but artist wise he suck right about now. maybe he can get his head out the clouds and all them d*** riders on gunit radio get his balls out they mouth maybe he can buckle down and put out a tight cd. then again he dont need the money so quit trying... no hate just a gunit fans opinion...
