i'd like to leave you with a few Verses of the Quran. and like to suggest that anyone should look into the religion before they can judge it, study it for yourself.
We will show them Our Signs on the horizon and within themselves, until it is clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not enough for your Lord that He is a witness of everything? (Qur'an, 41:53)
And He has made everything in the heavens and everything on Earth subservient to you. It is all from Him. There are certainly Signs in that for people who reflect.
(Qur'an, 45:13)
God is not ashamed to make an example of a gnat or of an even smaller thing. As for those who believe, they know it is the truth from their Lord. But as for those who do not believe, they ask: "What does God mean by this example?" He misguides many by it and guides many by it. But He only misguides the deviators. (Qur'an, 2:26)
"There are certainly Signs in Earth for people with certainty, and in yourselves as well. Do you not then see?" (Qur'an, 51:20-21)

I understand that Islam has as many branches and sects as Christianity. The two major ones are the Sunnis and the Shias. They split over the issue of apostolic succession. but all in all...shia practices have differed over time from the original practices...they have added ...most of them have added prohibited practices such as beating themselves ...so and so which is not allow...strictly..
and that is due to illiteracy...even talibal and all these groups which call themselves muslims...even they are causing damage to islam because they themselves are illiterate.....but what u wrote above is correct...
