Lets discuss what lil Wayne did different for Drake than what 50 cent did for Lloyd Banks!
I think the answer is simple Lil wayne got Drakes name out there but Drake created his own seperate fan base somehow which 50 and banks did not do. Both drakes and Lloyd banks first albums went platinum but drakes second album went platinum again but banks didnt even go gold the second go around. I mainly put the blame on Banks because theres no reason he shouldnt of continued to grind and be hot after hfm all the attention was on them at the time.

Uh dumbass drake and lil Wayne are in completely different categories! Drakes a singer who can also spit a lil! Wayne's a rapper and not a very good one!Different fan base! Whereas 50 and banks nearly sound the same there for a while and both gangsta rap, same sorta beats! #SK

because drake blew up welll after wayne blew making him knew banks was blowing up on the eastcoast same time as fif and also the wayne ym backlash is yet to happen started with nicki doe ( dont think she will go play 2nd time around) and interscope didnt push hands up when it needed to be push so banks lost his plat side and felll of due to family problems

The comparison don't really work because Drake was a well known child actor who had built his own fanbase of women, children and suspect men well b4 actually signing to YMCMB.
Their was no label speculation as to where Banks would sign,, he just dropped some Hot97 freestyles wit the rest of the crew and created a buzz in a time where niccas wanted to hear rappers actually rap and not just sing, whine, and make a club record.
50 set Banks up lovely,, made sure to drop an album of his immediately when he could've been focused on just himself. Banks went on to have big singles and a double platinum album.
YMCMB in 2012 is what G-Unit was back in '05,,, a rap crew that had been at the top for close to 2 years and had begun expanding to the point where they were taking on a lot of dead weight.
We know how that worked, or didn't, for the Unit,, so we know what to expect in the coming 1-2 years for YM.
