now this is interesting, no wonder 50 is helping the needy. He's trying to erase the evils he did with Interscope.

Good Article.

^^^THIS...point blank period!!!

THE EARTHQUAKE IS COMING !!
Interesting read, but they left off a couple of things.
While Jimmy Iovine is a main part of the problem, 50 himself shot himself down in the long run. He was and still is his own biggest enemy. I seriously wish I could just be given 15 minutes to have a conversation with the dude, and just bring some valid points to his attention.
Imo, these are what caused his downfall (In Order:)
Ending Rappers Careers - While the Industry could do nothing about it, you have to realize that when 50 was on top of his game doing this, everyone was pretty much losing money with the exception of Interscope. But because 50 had so much momentum, and raw street report, no one could do anything about it. But the desire to destroy 50 and end his reign was brewing.
Vitamin Water Deal - Jimmy Iovine & Industry become aware that 50 is palpable of making larger than life deals, without them. Major red flags set off.
Game - This is when his relationship with Dre would be strained. Not only would 50 no longer completely trust Dre or Jimmy, but more importantly Dre no longer trusted 50 completely 100%.
Curtis - The whole entire concept was the first step to the guillotine. He was competing with Kanye West -- someone who had the entire industry on his side (he wasn't ending careers, he was a safer bet, and would do pop, more commercial records.) He also went into the race with an ego larger than most skyscrapers in New York, and with a s***** album concept. The album itself had no message, direction or purpose other than bragging and mainstream conversion. When 50 walked away from what made him big, there was no turning back. Not only would he struggle to be better in terms of commercial records than someone like Kanye West, but he would also be permanently known as the "Money Mogul," as opposed to the "Driven Rebel with the heart of a lion," that he had came in with. It was with the rawness, rebellious, and true messages present on his debut that he was truly able to be at the head of the pack. Massacre was just him floating up at the top with the help of club bangers and G-Unit as a group, (as it usually takes three years for an artist to fall off even if they're doing s***** music.) 50 would further strain his relationship with Interscope when he made Interscope buy certain amounts of copies of his album.
Young Buck -- This just made 50 look bad. People began to see not the Big-hearted, strong willed rebel that we saw battling Ja Rule and people who blackballed him early on, but in fact the exact opposite. He was becoming a ruthless, heartless money grubbing label exec akin to Jay-Z who did this type of s*** for fun.
Lil Wayne -- Even though Weezy is as fake as they come, he was undoubtfully the main event in terms for mainstream listeners in 07-08. When 50 lashed out at him, it just looked like a jealous attempt to establish dominance, and it once again alienated him from the main buyers of hip hop music (fans of wayne & kanye.)
Rick Ross/G-Unit Dropped/BISD Flop -- This was the icing on the cake. This was the opportunity that the industry saw to finally make a great blow @ 50's career. It should have been a no-brainer to 50. Here we had, a fat, unknown nobody on the come-up, who just happened to be signed to Def Jam but had it in with bigs like Jay, Kanye and Wayne. 50 should've taken a page from Em or Dre's book and not have responded period, asserting that he is completely beneath 50 and unworthy of his time. But no, 50 let his pride once again be his downfall. By responding to Ross, 50 not only boosted his Buzz, (as 50 was not in a spot to end his career,) but essentially stooped down to his level. While 50 got in quick jabs that were profound at the time (Ex-CEO, baby mama meet up,) in the long scheme of things, no one would remember this stuff, nor even care. We live in an age where a guy who sips cough syrup to alter his voice, changes the colors of his mickey fin's purchased bandana whenever he sees fit, and will virtually jump on a track with anybody in the industry, is regarded as "the greatest rapper of all time." Ross was the perfect industry puppet, and with the help of all hot producers in the game, as well as the support of all major labels, 50 never stood a chance. When G-Unit was dropped from Interscope admits the beef, 50 came to realize that Interscope was now against him. When BISD came out, 50 finally realized that he no longer had the support that he once had. 50 would take a long awaited break (which was appropriate,) and had three choices in regards to his future. There was to reassert loyalty to Interscope, (basically swallowing his pride and becoming Jimmy's b****,) there was the choice to rebel against Interscope further, (which is what 50 ultimately did,) and there was the best choice imo, which would have been to not lash out at anybody else, and reestablish his presence via an album that was true to himself and his current place in life.
Twitter Rants/Slim The Mobster/Sync Audio: So, 50 decided to further rebel against Interscope, and Dr. Dre. As soon as the headphone lines dropped, things instantly changed. While before Dre was saying that 50 "was going to be on Detox," and that "everything was all good," we've seen the ultimate end result after the Sync audio dropped when 50's single on detox was canceled, Dre purposely worked with Rick Ross, bought him an $100,000 watch (essentially spending the same number 50 sold first week,) and doesn't even follow him on twitter, (i know that sounds cliche, but he's following only 4 people: Eminem, slim the mobster, and kendrick lamar. Notice there's 5 people signed to Aftermath.) He also probably pissed off Dre when he jacked Slim the mobster's beat for a single, (which Slim ended up dissing him for and expressing Dre's current dislike of 50.)
My solution is simple: Create a recovery-esque album that documents REAL LIFE ISSUES PERTINANT TO 50'S LIFE.
Hell he could even write about feeling betrayed by dre/jimmy, getting older, not being able to write gangsta subject matter, and LEGITIMATELY diss wayne by drawing out TRUTHS.
What 50's been doing is he's lost sight of what's made him, and the truth behind it. It's not club bangers, tracks with features from every hot artist, or even gangsta rap that garners TRUE fan support these days, (assuming you're not referring to albums bought by labels and mainstream w***** like C4.) It's the truth. Real hip hop fans like to not be treated like idiots, and respect true insight.
c/s. N***** can s*** on Recovery all they want, but thats the kind of album that 50 really needs to make.
wow that was spot on, and yea he needs to make a Recovery type album, a real album with real topics. 50 Cent the gangsta rapper is long gone. time for retrospective 50, talk about the struggles like 2Pac did.
