i've noticed on hip hop sites and blogs the shift people have stopped hating on 50/g unit people miss it now. i think the timing is perfect for a 50 comeback.
for example hip hop dx throwback track right now is 'die one day' obie trice ft eminem lloyd banks yayo and 50 and all the comments are giving it love and saying they miss that era.

the absence of the early 2000's gangsta type rap in the mainstream could be a blessing or a curse for his album. With the right promo and music he might be able to make a comeback, on the other hand if his album is only average to solid and he doesn't have the right singles it might not be looking too good. It's always easier to ride to wave than to shift things.

i dont think 50 needs to shift things nor does he need to make another 'gangsta' album with gun talk. he just needs to make good, compelling music which i know he can do.
music like 'when it rains it pours' and 'somebody gon die tonight'. the shift just means people will listen, if its good he wil have success

yeah, I wasn't really talking bout straight gun talk records. When It Rains It Pours and I'm Supposed To Die Tonight are still pretty gangsta imo. However, that good old hip hop sound is pretty much gone in the mainstream and I'm sure a lot of hip hop fans miss that. If he can mix that up with fresh beats and good concepts he might be able to succeed. It's not like 50 wouldn't reach enought ppl with all his fb fans and twitter followers.

lol you're right just checking the comments on hiphopdx:

"man i think im cryin!
i miss those days!
i hate this world these days!
god i wish 2012 be the end of the world !
i cant bear another 1 mill first week for wayne or drake ! or nicki minaj going platinum!"

exactly. 50 cent is one of the best rappers of all time when he comes correct

Lol n**** ant s*** changed! Why Gunit was treading on Twitter yesterday cause of games behind the music was on & everybody was shittin on dem like Lmaooo them n***** careers dead & gtfoh Gunit? ?? Like wtf?? Is it 2003 hahahaha
Im not saying Fifs had a comeback I'm saying the time is right for one
the most important thing could be the first single. it needs to set the whole tone and concept for the album. i dont think the first single should feature anyone except maybe someone for the hook. then there needs to be a couple more singles, one for radio, one for core audience.
if dr. dre & 50 cent 'psycho' drops between now and july 2nd that wont hurt either

Psycho is no longer a Detox record according to The DOC and ppl say The Psycho might end up on 50's album. At the end of the day no song will ever be a Detox record tho but The Psycho is scrapped. I just hope Dre really gives 50 the songs they did for 50's album and doesn't f*** him over like he did Game.

IMO 50 should release the first single now, like I said sOmething to set the tone of the whole album. Then release the name of the album along with two radio singles, one commercial track for the ladies and one banger for everybody else. After that psycho would be a perfect buzz single
true, he should release something soon, otherwise they will most likely have to push back. 2 singles for the radio sounds right, they shouldn't waste too much time on I Just Wanna imo even tho it's at least doing better than Ok, You're right or Outlaw on the radio.
It also seems to be a good strategy to leak one or two standout tracks a few weeks before the album release like Jeezy did, that created a god buzz for him.

What I noticed is, everyone behaves like a bunch of restless play school children when 50 quiet. But, the second 50 says ''I'm ready to drop an album''.. it's like the principle walked in the room...

they stopped hating because G-Unit is gone.....
Buck's career is dead
The Game's career is barely alive, i would compare it to a flatline
Tony Yayo's career died a long time ago

Lloyd Banks's career hopped out the grave, but he will never be a rap star again
as for 50, he still has a chance for a comeback, but the door is closing fast on his career....
