GREAT READ 50 cent the most entertaining artist alive can rise again. MY LETTER TO 50 CENT

For the last several years you have put out better music than anyone in hip hop,yet here you are in serious career trouble. The question is why? I have a couple of theories. But before I start I wanna say, in no way am I questioning your intelligence or knowledge on business. You're a millionaire, 100 times over and i'm a man that's never seen 100,000 at one time. I'm just a fan that wants to see you win again. But like a boxer and his corner men, their different positions are gonna allow them to see different things from different angles. Lets start with the mixtape game. It was ingenious of you to use the mixtape grind to make yourself hot and get your deal. I think it was good that you kept it going after you got on also. However, Jimmy Iovine was partially right, when he thought you were giving away too much free music (though i appreciated it). He most likely said it cause ya'll could have made more money, but my reason is different. I think if you would have marketed (some) of those g-unit radios to retail, it would have been great from a radio influence standpoint. Even if g-unit records broke even financially on them,it would have been worth it. Once you're no longer the new thing in hiphop, the mixtapes only satisfy your hardcore fans. That's cool but we're gonna buy your products anyway. You gotta grab the casual listeners and convert them to back g-unit fans again. You can't grab them them with a mixtape they're not gonna bother to download, cause they're hating (no matter how good it is). You have to use features and radio singles combined with mixtapes to keep ALL eyes on you. People have to voluntarily download and listen to mixtapes. People DON'T have to voluntarily seek you to come across you on radio or a feature on someone else's song. That's my point. That's how wayne took over. Most of his singles were nothing special. But he had a safety net. Every where you looked he was there (chris brown, destiny's child, various rappers and new r&b artists). So even if his singles (fireman and others) didn't do anything, he fell into his safety net and appeared unscathed. This along with mixtapes saved his career. You didn't create a safety net, so if you chose the wrong single you were forced to take that L. My girl still purchases records from retail on a regular, never downloaded an album or mixtape in her life. The 1st gunit mixtape she ever heard was thisis50 vol 1 and only cause i dl on her computer. So all them great songs from "50 cent is the future" through all the gunit radios, she's never heard. Which means she hasn't been influenced by them at all. If that's the case with her it can be the same with countless others. So although you've put out better music from 02' to current, than any rapper, the general public doesn't know that. Only your hardcore fans know. That's not enough to run the game and we need you or all that sucka s***, (so called gangsta's kissing each other, clowns with mohawks and jeans tight as spandex) will prevail.

Every win isn't a good win and every loss isn't a bad loss. The general public has to feel you. My point is although songs like "hustler's ambition" might not have charted as high as disco inferno or just a lil bit, it was felt more and is a better song. It just didnt fit into the radio rotation format.Another example was Kanye's "Stronger" vs "can't tell me nothing". "Stronger" charted waaaaaaaay higher, but "can't tell me nothing is the song that" the general public identified with. Songs like these are important for longevity cause they touch the soul and can influence the audience to support, even when you don't have a smash single. Just because a song DOES chart high doesn't means it's great or even thoroughly liked. It might be because the artist has a certain popularity at the time. "Ok, you're right" is easily better than a lot of your former singles. But since you're no longer at the mainstream forefront, they're hating. If wayne dropped that exact record it would be #1. You're in a situation now where you have to reinvent yourself. Trying to make a updated version of "in da club" isn't gonna work cause they're hating. You're gonna have to hit the streets for real and put your music in their hands personally. Even if it means a humbled small venued tour that doesn't pay as well as usual. You gotta remind them you're that n**** and your current approach has not and WILL NOT work. You need to get out there like obama on the campaign trail and make your point. Going at jay ain't gonna help, he's too smart and has been awaiting your downfall since you took over. Don't self destruct now, you came back after getting shot. You can comeback again. I thought Gucci mane was done after Jeezy blew up and dropped that "stay strapped" diss. Look at gucci now. He was out here in cincinnati,oh doing songs with our locals and i'm confident he was in other cities doing the same thing.Trying hard as he could to touch the people. You gotta change your stategy. Like boxing, you can't always go for the quick KO. You gotta put in that body work sometimes and make sure it's connecting. You're creating them heartfelt songs but you can't assume they're being heard. You have to get out there and MAKE them hear "i gotta win" from WAR ANGEL, "lifetime achievement", "puppy love" etc.

Big hits and hype will eventually die down for EVERY artist. Gotta make sure you don't die with it. 2pac,nelly,puffy, and mc hammer all sold millions. But only 2pac (the G.O.A.T) is still revered from an artist standpoint. Because he didn't live off of big singles alone. He touched us with brenda's got a baby, keep ya head up, violent, dear mama and countless other songs. Nelly and hammer both have non-radio songs with heartfelt substance, but those songs were not at the forefront and they never got props for them.

The radios hating, mixtape game's oversaturated and the options are limited. Hitting the streets personally is the 1 undeniable thing you can do. You got the bombs, just got to properly place and detonate them. If you show up in person and deliver war angel, forever king and/or some of your earlier mixtape work, there's no way whoever you cross paths with won't go home and listen. You can be re-born if you want it that bad. And I know you do. You don't want them suckas to win and you are the real n****'s last stand against bitchassness. So go get em or die trying.
