Getting shot 9 times did help him get publicity but I am sure he would have made it without it. There is just something about Fiddy that makes him interesting.

yeah, cuz wut yall keep 4gettin is he had a deal already b4 gettin shot, remember da song "how 2 rob"???...he was signed 2 trackmaster/sony records and had an album bout 2 drop called POWER OF THE DOLLAR and it featured songs wit NORE and BEYONCE just 2 name a few...once he got shot da label dropped him, so gettin shot kinda derailed his plans but it gave him street credability...it was up 2 him 2 get himself a buzz again witout a label, so he hit da streets wit mixtapes...da music was gangsta and him gettin shot 9 times and livin 2 talk s*** bout it just made him look more gangsta and it co-signed da gangsta s*** he was talkin...da streets went crazy and ALL da labels came callin again!!!...it just so happens dat eminem got his hands on a 50 cent mixtape and hollered @ 50 and da rest is history...but def jam almost got 50 2 sign, so did atlantic records...so he woulda made it regardless...cuz he was just dat determined!!

Yes Em said he was interesed in him before he got shot. But his voice would be different and he wouldnt be built the same. So i dont know how successful but hes good at flipping money as he calls it. He's always been a talented writer. Who knows maybe Puff would have hired him to write for Biggie lol.

Being shot was a major part of his story. Without it, he just had dealing crack at 12, his mom's death and gettin' arrested which is still a pretty tough life. But the 9 shots made him legendary and solidified his Gangsta image.
He would still be successful cuz he hustles, but not on this level.
