//Do people who grow up in the hood go to college, and become successful?//
I posted this question because some person from wall street said that im from the "hood" because I have a "G.E.D". This is what they said, "Most likely you are not from the hood if you went to post graduate school But u are from the hood if u have a high school diploma or less. I think any thing is possible if u put your mind to it and stick to it like your eyes would to an t.v its simply an under statement" Why is this such a hard concept to grasp?

Sure they do, just because statistically being from the hood entails lower chances of attaining higher education and success due to a multitude of factors, those chances don't automatically equal 0. I guarantee you that you can find at least some muthafuckas from the hood in damn near any university in the country.

im from the hood. i got my g.e.d. back 2001 when i was in prison up state. that g.e.d. got me in college right now as we speak. i still live in the hood,i got 3 cars and a house "in the hood". anybody can be successful if they wanna be

Dat is a Sterotype I seen people that comes from da hood and made it to college who ever said that was and ignorant dumbass peice of s*** who only thinks negativty clearly has no life so they dum and blind to fact and reality around dem matter of fact I will give you a perffect example of sumbody from da hood who has an college David Banner the rapper he has a Masters Degree

they can definitely go to college, but it is harder. I used to live in the "hood" if thats what u wanna call it and I would be kind of embarrassed to do my work and be a good student because all of my friends would make fun of me. They never went to school or always got in trouble, so peer pressure can be an absolute b**** in not just the "hood" but anywhere!!
I moved to a much better neighborhood in the 7th grade and I successfully got into a university and I am going to graduate at the end of this year so yeah people in the 'hood" can definitely make it!
