Music executives Diddy, Lyor Cohen, Swizz Beatz and more all came through to show their support for rap star Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group press conference today (May 2) and SOHH was on hand to capture the memorable occassion.
Backed courtesy of Ciroc Vodka and hosted by hip-hop personality Elliot Wilson, the ceremony kicked off with some words from music exec Lyor Cohen and Swizz Beatz.
"He has the biggest office in the world; that's called the streets," Cohen said, along with revealing it has been nearly 20 years since publicly speaking at a press conference. Swizz Beatz later came out saying, "My conversation with him is like a conversation with Nas or a conversation with [Jay-Z]...Ross is humble. He's trying to get to the next level. People forget that hip-hop started off as a rebelious movement. I just wanna commend a bawse for doing bawse things and keeping it real." (SOHH)
Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy also used the opportunity to shower Rozay with accolades.
"Everytime you hear that Australian girl saying Maybach Music, your d*ck gets hard, or at least my d*ck gets hard," Diddy said. "His actual records off his mixtapes are so hot that they get on the radio without any promotion. He is the hottest rapper of this generation -- he's like a jazz singer or a soul singer or a gospel singer. It just touches your heart in that way. He's a genius to me, he's my brother, I know he will go down in history as one of the greatest record men. I knew he was a great one and I didn't give a f*ck what everyone else was saying. And now they all on ur d*ck! He's an artist that's gonna change the world." (SOHH)
