Before I Self Destruct Review: Did 50 "Self Destruct" Or Will He Reign Supreme? *Edit/Update*

Before I self Destruct Pictures, Images and Photos

Its been 3 years since 50 fans & the hip-hop scene waiting for another "Get Rich Or Die Tryin" from 50 Cent, with the mixed review album Curtis that made people say 50 really fell off, 50 said he's gonna push the restart button, so did he mean what he said?

The album Before I Self Destruct starts off with no intro instead 50 explodes with the Ty Fyffe Production track The "Invitation", almost like he's inviting anyone in the rap game to go at him, this track is a perfect start-off track. Next is the Jackson 5 sample track "Days Went By", when I first head it I wasnt too impressed but now I like it & 50 tells a story about the environment & its a pretty good track.

Track 3 is "Death To My Enemies" produced by Dr. Dre, great production, basically 50 is saying if you f*** with him he's gonna bring death to you, without sending a bulletin or a memo. "So Disrespectful" is probably the best diss track from 50 since Backdown, 50 spits his most graphic bars about his nemesis The Game, he sends shots at Jay-Z & Young Buck, & even his baby mama, some people was expecting a Wend Williams shot, but anyways 50 says what he wants nuff said.

Next is the highly anticipated track "Psycho" that was formally name Norman Bates Motel, perfect Dre beat, this is 50 & Marshall at they best. The Concept record "Hold Me Down" produced by Scott Storch is a sometime skip sometime listen, only certain listeners will know what 50 is rapping about. Next Is "Crime Wave" pt. 1 which is Classic, lets just say "Stretch" aka Crime Wave pt. 2 is good but the Original Crime Wave takes the crown.

Lets get into my favorite song on BISD, "Strong Enough" which takes a sample from a classic Gladis Knight record, 50 is mad on this track, where he takes another shot at Game & Buck, this is the type of song where if someone did something really f***** up to you, turn this up in yo car & ride out! Just dont tell nobody I said that.

"Get It Hot" is good, no that is not Lloyd Banks, M. Davis (funny thats my name) is credited for the hook, i heard thats the next single. "Gangsta's Delight" produced by Havoc from Mobb Deep is sick, kind of remind you of the old 50 from the voice. "I Got Swag" & "OK You're Right" bangs out in the whip.

Aside From "Do You Think About Me" which is pretty DOPE & "Baby By Me", 50 is back on his b*******, but will it bring back Gangsta Rap? Only Time Will Tell. This Album Deserve better sales but hey, we rather have a great album sell 165k first week, than have a cheesy album do 670k first week right?

Production = 9.0
Lyrics = 8.5
Concept = 8.5
Flow = 8.8
Overall = 9.7/10

Replay Value = High

Hold me Down not produced by Storch. Apart from that good review but use paragraphs.
BISD would be good for a mixtape not a major artists album. maybe tony yayo. the songs are good but nothing memorable and that not trying to be funny. foa a mixtape 9/10, for an album not a good look
Love the album.
