ILLMATIC HELP PUT NEW YORK HIP HOP ON IN THE EARLY 90'S AND REASONABLE ALTHOUGH A CLASSIC WASN'T REALLY ACCEPTED AT FIRST, SO I WOULD HAVE TO SAY NASTY NAS, AS HE WAS CALLED THEN.

daaaaaaam this is a legit question. ima have 2 say illmatic by a very very very close margin. when i was younger jay had my ear. now looking back on the whole album song by song verse by verse beat by beat nas by nail bitter! but 2 classics every hip hop head shoud have f*** just hearing

that album was serious...not long winded..straight ..to the point...the best producers at the time..no fast forwarding!

Both albums were hard! As far as a debut had to be Illmatic it put the east on the hip-hop map! Reasonable Doubt didn't get respect until In MY Lifetime Vol. 1 dropped

yeah reasonable doubt didnt get the respect it deserved but real niggas knew .... that jay was up and coming when they heard that s*** .... niggas was just stuck on Pac, Big, Wu, NaS, and cats like that .... if only they knew ....
