NOw we all know before a new record is given the heads up, it usually goes through listening sessions with industry people. Well, truth is, if these listening sessions were successful, why arnt the cd sales more successful. YOu wanna know why? What good is it to have 100 people sitting around shaking their head to your music and hollaring this is hot, if they are not true fans. Real fans are us that hang on the websites, checking for the new music, saying what we want to hear, speaking our opinion about the music, crying to the music, pushing harder through the music, etc. I mean how many people in a listening session will actually tell an artist that the music is okay, but you need something better? Us fans, we would do that. MOst industry heads or people that are in your circle are not very reliable because they just want to please you. The fans are most reliable because we are the ones that make a record commercially successful. We are only around the music and not the artist, so there is no conflict of intrest.

I propose that 50 should have a fans only listening session. He could invite 100 fans to a special listening session(half guys half girls), but it wont be everybody sitting in one room listening just bobbing they heads at everything just because its 50. I mean he would have everybody at they own listening station going through all the proposed songs for Before I self destruct. We would pick the best 14 songs that are a must hear to all of our fellow fans; Not something that is okay or it sounds cool, but the best 14 that we feel other fans and haters must hear because the tracks are that potent. I mean I have a great plan for this and everything. I just really feel that this is a better way to get the best music out that fans want to hear. If an artist truly pleases the fans, then he/she will therefore be please when the soundsacn comes out. JUst think, this would be revolutionary and 50 would be the first to do it. I think If 50 did this he would see an incredible spike in music sales. Come on you guys speak up. Because 50, being the genius businessman he is, might actually consider this idea. Speak up and you just may be one of the listening session attendee's.

? what? okay anyways............SMH
can you at least give a legit reply.
naw i like the classic way
Really? Were you one of the people that complained about Curtis, Rotten Apple, Tos, etc. If you were not then okay. But if you were, how could you not feel this idea?
First of all, having a room with 100 fans won't change s*** man.Because, some people will like this song, some others will not like it.Second of all,the artist does what he wanna do,u people don't understand that being a rapper is fif's job (well, now, one of his jobs),so if he still does the same s***,it ain't pleasant for him no more, because as an artist,he has to push his limits and does other things. So that's why u won't hear another "GRODT",and i don't want to hear another one neither. But don't worry tho, cuz' fif' will bring that raw s*** on his new album, and that's for real, and i know it's gonna be a classic album. But he,as an artist, also do other things that's creative on his album.anyway,"BEFORE I SELF DESTRUCT" DEC. 9TH,haters and competition better get ready cuz' they gonna s*** on themselves when the album comes out.
HOw can you be so sure that it wont change anything. Second I didnt say 100 fans in one room. I said everybody at they own listening station. They would compile all the data and see what songs fans voted for the most. In no way am I looking for another GRODT. I am always one of the first to point out that people need to get off of that. However, all Im am saying is that people that only look to all these industry people (or themselves) to tell them what they should put out is not effective. So you would rather have 100 industry heads pick the songs they like rather the 100 fans. Fans are the ones thats buying the damn music. FAns are the ones thats going to the damn shows. FAns are the ones who will put you on top. All im saying is that, its good to be different. Its not like we telling him to go do a song like this. We would only be listening to songs that he already completed and giving it the thumbs up or not. How could that not help. if 79 people out of 100 all vote for the same 14 songs, you cant tell me that the album wont be better. There is power in numbers. ARe you telling me that by involving the people that actually consume your music, will not help you? Come on, are you serious?
basically fifty should do a webcam video playin us his album ??? that way it wont leak as bad
Naw, Im telling you I have a flawless plan and a webcam wont cut it. These people spend hella money on marketing, and what would it hurt to take a little bit to do a weekend listening session with fans. They waste money on marketing that doesnt even work. Spend it in they way that I propose and it will definitely help because you are actually involving the people that are buying your music. Im mean if you want quality, you have to give quality, right or wrong?
yea but how can he show us his songz wit out em getin leaked??????
Think about it like this? HOw much would $25,000 hurt 50 pockets, especially for such a good cause. Even more, they do have money set reserved for marketing right? Reserve rooms at a hotel from friday evening through sunday afternoon. Set up a conference room at the hotel with the listening stations where you dont have to listen to the music on the net. I say friday thru sunday because its better that we would do it three days in a row so that we get to listen to it more than once. Feel me? I mean what fan wouldnt be eager about jumping on the greyhound, to stay at a hotel for the weekend to be involved in 50's new album and even meet him at the end of the process. I mean wouldnt some of the marketing money be better spent this way than trying to force a gimmik on the fans. If you want to know what we want then involve us. That way you dont force anything and we show you what we want.

Hell companys spend thousands on marketing that doesnt even work. Think if Jayz would have done this with kingdom come. He spent hella marketing dollars on that album, and it didnt get the return on all the marketing that was put forth. It turned out that yeah it was good music, but not something the fans really wanted. Now I read they spent at least a million bucks on his marketing for Kingdom come. What would it have hurt to snatch $25,000 out of a million to get the fans involved becasue they will be the ones buying the music. Marketing tactis need to evolve, and start to involve the actual market. Gimmiks are played out. Its 2008.
what is that?
If this is really true I would love to be apart of 50 listing session. Ive been 50's biggest fan since Get rich OR Die Trying. I live in New York and rode with 50 through all the hate. I think hes the best artist in the game next to em. Hey 5o if you see this invite a ture fan to your session. I will give you some real insight on whats hot, ive heard all your mixtapes and cd's. Everything you have put out has been banging in my ear drums. Lets get you back to the top where you belong.
I realize some of you may think that this is a dumb plan, but think about it. Music is one those things that the actual buyers are not involved with, so it ends up being a actual toss up if your album will be successful or not. With food, you make it and people taste it, whatever people like most you run with it right? With clothes, you try different styles and the consumers go after what they like or feel is hot, so the company runs with that right? Its the same idea with a lot of things. But with music, know one has really came up with a way to involve the actual buyers right? They make the music and hope the fans like it. A lot of people are hella flopping? Why? They havent found a way to include the consumers. Why not actually get the fans involved right? I mean at least try it right? Could it hurt to actually get the fans perspectives?
