I wouldn't ask him for anything because what he wants me to have he has already given me.
And I would tell him that I thank him for all the blessings he has hidden in my everyday life.
Just waking up everyday is a blessing and people need to realize that.
Ok, so I found this somewhere and I think it fits in this discussion: (NOTE- I did not write this, and I don't know who did, it was sent in one of those chain emails)
I asked God to take away my habit.
God said, No.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned.
I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.
I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.

I would ask why. And he would probably ask why ask why and in return I would say, now what. And he would probably say what do you want for yourself and I would say I am just so upset I just need to find out how. In return GOD would probably say I have already given you your answer and I would probably tell him I dont know and he would probably say then just dont try to figure it out in in the process in the back of my mind I would be thinking that GOD is a man and then I would get angry. Then the conversation would end in frustration.
